- Why do you want to start a new group, instead of joining one of these existing groups?
- Konkan is a big division of Maharashtra and is known for its culture and this vast culture, people, language can't be covered by big WikiProject as they would be busy in other work and the vast culture of Konkan will mess everything. That is why this vast place, place's culture and all related things need a special WikiProject to look into.

Oppose
[edit]- Such dissections from other WikiProjects live only to the extend that many categories and sub-categories, talk-page templates and tagging is done by creating non-sense clutter. Post that we don't see a single article-space page being improved. Just for example, the nominator himself has never made any substantial edits to any of the pages related to Konkan area. My suggestion is they should work on it first and then may come back after 1-2 years later with their vast experience and then suggest such division. Till then, any support they need to develop any article related to Konkan can be through the parent Wikipedia:WikiProject India. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {Talk / Edits} 09:27, 17 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
- @Dharmadhyaksha: let me add that WikiProject India has a work group for Maharashtra. Have the editors supporting this proposal sought to work within it or is there too much non-Konkan content within its scope to effectively coordinate work related to Konkan? – Finnusertop (talk ⋅ contribs) 00:53, 19 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
- The work group you are mentioning is in itself inactive. You can check the history of its talk page suggesting just 50 edits since 2009 and 107 edits since start from 2006. And i suppose the proposers need to be asked this question, rather than me. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {Talk / Edits} 14:07, 20 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
