Description
[edit]Grunge is a large genre of music that should be listed separate from its current umbrella topic of Alternative music. Additionally, the Grunge music WikiProject will be able to house several task forces such as the Nirvana task force.
The Grunge music WikiProject will improve the quality of Wikipedia's grunge-specific articles on the artists who influenced this musical movement. The creation of this project will bring together those interested in grunge for the purpose of consistency throughout articles for accuracy about grunge and it's effects in the music community.

Goals
[edit]- Improve articles within the grunge category.
- Add content relevant to the grunge movement.
- Support grunge-genre musician task forces.
- Patrol frequently vandalized articles within the project scope.
- Ensure consistency and accuracy in articles with reference to grunge.
Support
[edit]Please specify whether or not you would join the project.
- Support. I'd love to take the helm on this. mheart (talk) 22:21, 24 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose WikiProject Alternative Music and its Nirvana taskforce already cover the scope of the proposed project sufficiently. In fact, grunge-related topics are among our highest priorities, and we've gotten scores of grunge articles to Featured and Good Article status. I would be more inclined to support a task force, but even then it overlaps with the already-establish Nirvana taskforce. WesleyDodds (talk) 03:44, 25 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Support. Sounds like a great idea! I'll be willing to participate in the tasks handed out!--Greg D. Barnes (talk) 04:36, 25 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Support Certainly. Sir Richardson (talk) 13:24, 25 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose Completely unnecessary. Grunge articles are actually in very good shape thanks to the alt-rock WikiProject. —indopug (talk) 15:26, 25 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose- Nirvana, AIC, Soundgarden, etc. are all already under wikiproject alt music. Rockgenre (talk) 18:12, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Discussion
[edit]The Grunge music WikiProject could be very successful. Should this project gain support from 5-10 active Wikipedians, its project page will be listed at WikiProject Grunge music. mheart (talk) 22:21, 24 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
As I explained before, it would be a bit redundant. There's no reason for it to be a separate project; at best it could be a taskforce of WP:ALM. WesleyDodds (talk) 10:09, 25 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- I took some time to consider this and decidedly agree with you. A taskforce would be better suited to grunge as the genre is currently no longer mainstream, but considered alternative. The proposal has been made for a grunge taskforce. Thank you for your insight! mheart (talk) 03:45, 12 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
