Description
[edit]Wikiproject:Gnosticism proposed scope will Include all Gnostic faiths such as Manicheism, Mandaeism, Valentinianism, Bardesanism, Sethianism and others as well as pseudo-Gnostics such as Marcion. Despite the fact that there has been some controversy in what is and what is a Gnostic faith, Gnosticism is conservatively the belief that Esoteric Knowledge leads to salvation in conjunction with the belief that the physical World was created at least in part by a force other than the Godhead and its emanations. The goals of the project are to provide a nexus of individuals who are interested in Gnosticism as a cultural and academic subject. the scope will include comunitarian collaborations, article writings, reviews, corrections, and what ever the members of the project see fit to improve Gnosticism and Gnosticism related articles. - Zaharous (talk) 01:03, 17 June 2010 (UTC) I will join.[reply]
- John Carter (talk) 15:33, 17 June 2010 (UTC)-Would join, unfortunately probably less as a writer than reviewer, copy editor, assessment, and in finding sources.[reply]
- Scope sounds reasonable. I'm highly unlikely to join the project though. Matthewedwards : Chat 21:20, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Discussion
[edit]I strongly suggest that only people truly knowledgeable or interested in Gnosticism join it, however I do not want this project be a large consumer of time and I myself may only be active on its campaigns thirty minutes a week. However this project I believe should be based on democratic principles and mutual respect for each member serving as a lens for focus.--Zaharous (talk) 01:38, 17 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
