Description
[edit]This territory touches a great deal (and a diverse range) of locations, peoples, dishes, cultural peculiarities, events, and so on.
It represents, until recently, an extremely under-represented cultural and political entity on the Internet, and while this is true, for instance, on Maps services (this is a bi/trilingual area but most will use monolingual names), this also happens to be the case for wikipedia, where the representatives of the bigger nations have always "bullied" any little chance Triestines would have to add and share many — often rare — informations and sources about this Territory.
We're now open to sharing all the informations about our area in Central Europe to everyone, but we need the support of the wikipedia community to do so properly.
Triestine citizens and any others are more than welcome to join up. Aarska (talk) 00:19, 26 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

- Why do you want to start a new group, instead of joining one of these existing groups?
- A specific wikiProject on the Free Territory of Trieste seems to be a logical choice, thanks to the multicultural characteristics of this Territory, which wouldn't make it clearly fit Italian/Slovenian/Croatian WikiProjects. For the very same reasons this couldn't just be a task-force, but a whole new wikiproject. Lots of enthusiasm on this subject is rising in Trieste and surrounding areas nowadays, so a high number of contributors is very much possible.
- I'd like to stress that Triestines never contributed much to Wikipedia before, as we felt that we simply weren't organized enough to share properly informations and materials on our Territory.
This could change right now, which is why we're looking for strong support of the Wikipedia editors to start and structure this wikiproject!

Oppose
[edit]- 65.92.180.137 (talk) 04:11, 19 February 2013 (UTC) -- I think this is better dealt with as a task force of WP: WikiProject European Microstates or WP: WikiProject European history , since it is not a current country (1947-1954), and its topic area is very small, so unlikely to remain active in the long term. -- 65.92.180.137 (talk) 04:11, 19 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
