Wikimedia UK and Conway Hall organised an editathon focusing on Conway Hall's archives, hosted in the Brockway room at Conway Hall in London on Thursday, 8th August 2013.
The aim of the event was to improve the coverage of an assortment of nineteenth century organisations and people - especially related to the atheist movement. As well as subject expertise, Conway Hall has an archive which holds a lot of material that has been accumulated by the South Place Ethical Society. We were able to use that during the event.
Date: 8th August 2013, 6.30pm-9pm (coffees and introductions from 5.30)
Venue: Brockway Room (Ground floor), Conway Hall
Participants: Participation from Conway Hall as well as interested Wikimedians. There was space for 20 people in total.
Registration: Captured below and on Evenbrite for non-wiki editors
We run a Skype chat for people who can't get to London via jonathan.cardy.
I may be available in the evening. Would like to be involved in some way, even if just copyediting edited articles. MartinPoulter (talk) 13:46, 28 June 2013 (UTC) Sorry I couldn't make it. I'd be interested in taking part in any similar future events. MartinPoulter (talk) 11:28, 21 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I am a member of the Ethical Society and have already edited Conway Hall which I visit often. I expect to be at Wikimania so will have to participate remotely but may take some photos ahead of the event to prepare. Andrew Davidson (talk) 23:58, 25 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Depending on what's available, a wide range of articles relating to Imperialism, the scramble for Africa and the individuals involved could be improved.
