I am trying to understand how to improve the content on my Neal Fraser Wikipedia submission. It said I needed to include more reliable secondary sources, but I believe I have done just that. Any advice you have would be very much appreciated. Halejiana (talk) 05:47, 21 December 2021 (UTC)
- Halejiana IMDB is not acceptable as a source because it is user editable. Interviews are primary sources, not secondary(even if a secondary source publishes it). 331dot (talk) 13:53, 21 December 2021 (UTC)
Thank you! Does that mean if I were to remove IMDB or replace it with another source the article would be approved? Is that the only source for the Neal Fraser article that is questionable? Halejiana (talk) 02:21, 22 December 2021 (UTC)

I discovered this app when traveling this holiday season, and came across a draft page someone made that got rejected initially. As a fan of the app now, I figured I'd help fix and edit the wikipedia page as much as I could but not being someone who contributes a lot to wikipedia, I need someone better than me to finish it off and update the work. To my surprise, they actually have a lot of news coverage, so not sure why the page got rejected initially. If you read all the articles, it seems to align with wikipedia reference policy.

I have noted 3 criteria for notability: Releases on major music labels. Has performed music for a work of a notable film. Is a prominent representative of the Vocaloid style Only one of these criteria has to be met to qualify of notability. These are the notability requirements for musicians: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability_(music) In addition to these criteria also being one of the highest ranked DJs in the world would be a notability criterion in its own. So there are even 4 criteria met. Jessica is ranked 246th in the world by The Official Global DJ Rankings, which is the defacto independent website for DJ Rankings and the go to site for Google when searches are made for DJ Rankings.
As Examples: Fritz Kalkbrenner ranked 252 Groove Armada ranked 253 Little Louie Vega ranked 263
Most of the top 5000 DJs are on Wikipedia, but around 400 are not entered yet. A few friends of mine and I are in the process of entering those missing DJs. There are approximately 7000 DJs listed on Wikipedia. Any DJ in the top 10K is considered a major artist and has typically released remixes or albums on major labels. This is how The Official Global DJ Rankings describes it: https://djrankings.org/about_rankings “The Official Global DJ Rankings ranks the TOP 10.000 DJs in the world (TOP 10K). One may speculate that making it to the TOP 10K intrinsically does not sound like an achievement – but in fact it is a preeminent accomplishment. In 2020 The Official Global DJ Rankings did a comprehensive study to determine how many professional DJs there are in the world. The study conducted individual geographical case studies and used an advanced mathematical algorithm, taking into consideration aspects such as: population, rural incomes, segmentation of clubs, GDP, religious and cultural factors. To define a professional DJ, the study set as criteria that the DJ was able to sustain a living solely based on salary earned from DJ work. The study concluded that there are approximately 1¼ million professional DJs in the world in 2020.”
It is not my objective to source substantial information for the artist’s Wikipedia page, that is for the Wikipedia editor community to do. I focus only on the few criteria necessary for notability, and source those. Then the Wikipedia community continue the editing of the profiles with more interesting facts. I plan to put up at least 400 missing DJ profiles, and I will argue their notability.
By the way Jessica should alone qualify for notability criteria due to having performed cast lead vocals for one of the highest grossing movies of all times, and certainly the highest grossing music film. Aucgruppen (talk) 17:02, 21 December 2021 (UTC)
18:12:12, 21 December 2021 review of draft by Blempe
[edit]I was wondering if I incorrectly resubmitted the article I wrote titled "Performance Portability." I know that there's a fairly large backup of articles that are up for review, so I understand if no one has had the time to get to my article, but it's been about two months so I just wanted to make sure there was nothing wrong with how I submitted/resubmitted it. I apologize if this is the wrong place to ask this question. Thank you. Blempe (talk) 18:12, 21 December 2021 (UTC)
Blempe (talk) 18:12, 21 December 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Blempe, your submission looks like it's been submitted correctly and is in the queue. Unfortunately our turnaround time right now is more than two months for some articles. It may speed up review if you take a look at your sources and provide the three best ones as a comment up at the top of the article, but it all depends on when someone who feels qualified to review the article ends up taking a look at it. May I know why my article on one of the largest education portals and YouTube channels in India has been rejected? Similar info on educational institutes already exists on Wikipedia, for example:
>
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unacademy
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Byju%27s
>
Are you also telling me that this school gets a Wikipedia entry: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Little_River_High_School
And this institute does not? - https://www.bing.com/search?q=drishti+ias&FORM=HDRSC1

- Dave2100, take a look at the quality of references in the articles you are comparing to. Now identify and list WP:THREE quality independent references that prove notability. Only 3.Slywriter (talk) 19:53, 21 December 2021 (UTC)
