[edit]02:19:34, 18 November 2020 review of draft by Speedyinc
[edit]
I am trying to submit an English version to an original Japanese wikipedia page.
This is the original page: https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E7%A6%8F%E7%94%B0%E6%B7%B3
My first draft was rejected, but it is simply a translation of the original which is already published on Wikipedia, so I do not understand why a translation would be rejected. Please help. Thank you.
Speedyinc (talk) 02:19, 18 November 2020 (UTC)
- Hi Speedyinc. Each language version of Wikipedia operates according to its own policies and guidelines, set by the community of editors who contribute there. So an article may satisfy the rules for the Japanese Wikipedia but not the English one, or vice versa. Also the existence of an article doesn't necessarily mean it should exist, or that it is neutral. It could mean only that no one has gotten around to fixing or deleting the article yet. Thus arguing that a submission is a translation of a Japanese article will carry no weight in the question of whether the topic should have an English article or how such a version should be written. --Worldbruce (talk) 02:35, 18 November 2020 (UTC)
- Especially so because I don't think other wikis have anything that's quite equivalent to WP:Biographies of living persons, which is strict by design. —A little blue Bori v^_^v Takes a strong man to deny... 04:27, 18 November 2020 (UTC)

I am attempting to submit draft for review. However, when I get to the edit box after clicking the "submit for review" button, I hit "publish changes" and i am redirected back to my original with the same message that my draft "has not been submitted for review". Can you please ensure my draft has been submitted review, or will me with doing so? Thank you. Xander flex (talk) 05:15, 18 November 2020 (UTC)
- You put it in as a redirect to an article as opposed to calling the template. —A little blue Bori v^_^v Takes a strong man to deny... 07:38, 18 November 2020 (UTC)
- @Jéské Couriano: there appears to be an erro in the submit system. When I try to manually submit the draft, it produces the exact same result as here. I will do a manual submit for this, though one might need to go through all drafts and fix the code transclusion. Victor Schmidt (talk) 09:30, 18 November 2020 (UTC)
The submission is written from a neutral point of view, and refers to a range of independent, reliable, published sources. All other companies from the same segment already have their Wikipedia published pages. The subimission follows the same practices of these other companies. Please advise. Link with the other companies: [[Category:Ten-pin_bowling_equipment_manufacturers|https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Ten-pin_bowling_equipment_manufacturers]]
- See other stuff exists. That other companies in your field merit articles does not automatically mean yours does too. 331dot (talk) 14:33, 18 November 2020 (UTC)

- Tianaortiz You don't ask a question, but your draft was rejected, meaning that it will not be considered further. Wikipedia is not an advertising platform. 331dot (talk) 14:31, 18 November 2020 (UTC)
14:32:50, 18 November 2020 review of draft by Limerick 2030
[edit]
Hi -- My draft article is ready for submission but I'm not sure if it's in the queue or not. Can you let me know if I need to edit the markdown?
Limerick 2030 (talk) 14:32, 18 November 2020 (UTC)
- Hi Limerick 2030. Draft:The Old Normal was deleted as unambiguous advertising or promotion, which is something Wikipedia may not be used for. If you are instead asking about User:Limerick 2030/sandbox, it can be submitted for review by adding the text
{{subst:submit}}
at the top of it, and publishing the change. Glancing at it, however, I doubt very much that a reviewer would accept it. The Old Normal Organisation does not appear to be a notable organzation, and the only purpose of the article seems to be to promote it. --Worldbruce (talk) 16:19, 18 November 2020 (UTC)

[edit]I updated the article with the latest information from genuine media news portals, fixed the writing style as well. If I'm missing anything, please let me know.

- @DGG: for your information. The draft has been, as it seems completely rewritten. Victor Schmidt (talk) 16:48, 18 November 2020 (UTC)
- yes, a good deal of trivia has been added, by a editor who seems to be doing paid promotional editing exclusively. . Whatever we do here, this will not be likely to survive AfD. DGG ( talk ) 20:11, 18 November 2020 (UTC)

I don't know how to submit my draft for review. Can you show me?
TigerScientist (talk) 16:13, 18 November 2020 (UTC)
- Hi TigerScientist. You successfully submitted the draft, and it is in the pool to be reviewed. There is a considerable backlog, so please be patient. You may continue to improve the draft while you wait. --Worldbruce (talk) 16:24, 18 November 2020 (UTC)
Sorry, I didn't know it was submitted. Thanks for clearing things up. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TigerScientist (talk • contribs) 16:26, 18 November 2020 (UTC)

[edit]
Hirushanonline (talk) 16:14, 18 November 2020 (UTC)
- Hi Hirushanonline. Wikipedia needs article topics to be notable, needs articles to cite multiple, reliable, independent, secondary sources that contain significant coverage of the subject, and needs articles to be written from a neutral point of view. Draft:Mahesh bansa fails all of these requirements. You may wish to consider alternative outlets, with different inclusion criteria, for your writing. --Worldbruce (talk) 16:33, 18 November 2020 (UTC)

20:41:52, 18 November 2020 review of draft by Content4All
[edit]- Content4All (talk · contribs)
I am seeking help because the article was declined due to it sounding more like an advertisement. We used reliable independent sources, and I am hoping someone can give more specific examples of where and how we might update this article in a way that better suits an encyclopedia article. I am not certain as to which parts of the article were too much like an ad. Thank you!
Content4All (talk) 20:41, 18 November 2020 (UTC)
- Hi Content4All. Please clarify what you mean by "we". The policy on Wikipedia is "one user—one account". Usernames should not be shared by multiple individuals. --Worldbruce (talk) 22:31, 18 November 2020 (UTC)
This is only my account and I do not share this account with anyone. I only said "we" because I work for an agency and am used to using that verbiage. I included this in my association with Dutch Country General Store that I work for Hill Productions & Media Group. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Content4All (talk • contribs) 18:40, 24 November 2020 (UTC)
need help getting my article accepted by wiki
[edit]23:38:57, 18 November 2020 review of draft by Laferg69
[edit]
I tried to make this article as well researched and wiki guidelines conforming as I could. Before I try to rework it I need to know if the wiki editors feel that the living artist wiki page of Robert C Bassler is acceptable even if it CAN meet all of the wiki technical requirements. Please confirm that it is possible for this page to be approved before I start editing. thank you! Laferg69 (talk) 23:38, 18 November 2020 (UTC)
- Laferg69 I'm going to make a few comments, but I feel out of my depth in terms of approving it.
- The Notability guideline for artists is at Wikipedia:Notability (people)#Creative professionals. I'm not sure if Lenticular on its own meets it, but it is a heck of a start.
- The Article is somewhat overlinked.
- I'd take a look at pages for other Modern Scultors as a guide. Maybe Peter Alexander (artist)?
- Asking for help at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Visual arts might be a next step.
- I'd definitely keep continue. I think it could be made into a fairly good article *and* probably getting it there is more a matter of trimming than addition. As I said above, review pages about similar artist, especially those listed as Featured Articles or Good articles at Wikipedia:WikiProject Visual arts. I hope that you continue on Wikipedia, you've made a good start!Naraht (talk) 07:11, 19 November 2020 (UTC)
