[edit]05:46:30, 24 July 2018 review of submission by Aarthivsg
[edit]
I created a wiki page for Dance Guru Vazhuvoor R Samraj. He was a kingpin in his field during his days. Unfortunately he has given interviews to only Tamil Magazines and none of them are available online. Whatever information I have collected about him is through word of mouth and old paper cutting. There is a video in youtube in Tamil in which Ex-Chief Minister MGR has spoken about him. Since none of the information about him is in English, my draft got rejected. How can I make sure the wiki page gets created for him?Aarthivsg (talk) 05:46, 24 July 2018 (UTC)
- AarthivsgDo note subject notability is whereby content is supported by independent, reliable secondary sources in significant coverage where by the content is written in neutral point of view which the source talks directly in dept of the subject and not passing mentioned. Inteview, utube, word of mount sources are considered not reliable/independent. See here for the definition of notability, source types and examples for your reference - see message on "Request on 15:31:34, 22 June 2018 for assistance on AfC submission by SazidKabir". Please check the if the subject meets the nobility of WP:ANYBIO as no amount of editing that would merit a page in Wikipedia.Thank you. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 11:02, 24 July 2018 (UTC)

[edit]Hi guys,
Was hoping you could pinpoint the exact issue with the submission. I have used independent sources that are directly related to the points being made so am a tiny bit lost for next steps.
I'd appreciate any guidance with this.
Thanks, Michael Michaeldaviscomeon (talk) 11:09, 24 July 2018 (UTC)
- Examining a random sample of eight of the cited sources, none of them establish that the company is notable. The titles of the remaining sources suggest that they're more of the same. Some are not independent. Most of them fail WP:CORPDEPTH. "Deep or significant coverage provides an overview, description, commentary, survey, study, discussion, analysis, or evaluation of the [company]." Trivial coverage includes standard announcements of a product launch, expansions, acquisitions, mergers, sales of the business, ... Hello, I hope you can help with my question I have had feed back a few time that the article contains no reliable independent sources. I have added quite a few specific references from national UK media. Does this count as a reliable independent source? If not, do you have any suggestions about what else might I use? Thanks so much.

Hi,
I work for Colour Yellow Productions and Hitesh Kewalya is an award winning talent of ours. We created a page for him but the verification is pending at your end. How long would it take for his page to go live?
thank you very much anaya https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colour_Yellow_Productions

- As you work for the company, you will need to first, disclose your Conflict of interest. If you follow that link, you will find instructions on how to do this. Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 12:54, 24 July 2018 (UTC)
16:56:53, 24 July 2018 review of submission by Soflo18
[edit]Hello! I've recently had my submission rejected because it does not adequately show the subject's notability. The sources that I used were established websites in the fashion field and they are independent of the subject. I'd like to keep working on the draft. Are there any sources that I used that I should take out? Or how many more should I include? Any advice would be much appreciated.
Soflo18 (talk) 16:56, 24 July 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Soflo18. IMDb, Wikipedia, and discogs are user-generated, so they are not reliable sources. They have been removed for you.
- WDAM and Billboard are reliable sources, but they don't contain a significant depth of information about Kevin. Is mr-mag.com one of the "established websites in the fashion field" that you refer to? It appears to be a trade publication. Such publications may be reliable for certain things, but generally don't help demonstrate notability. That particular article is almost entirely Swan talking about Swan, so it isn't independent. I'm skeptical about bonneny.com being a reliable source. At first glance it appears to be a self-published blog whose author calls himself editor-in-chief, but maybe there's more to it than that. In any case, the piece is again a primary source interview with minimal independent analysis, Swan in Swan's words. Reviewers are likely to discount Alpharetta Lifestyle. The paragraph in the Around Town section reads like a press release. I would discard all of these sources.
- You need a minimum of three sources, but they all need to be strong —- independent, reliable, secondary sources that contain a significant depth of information about Swan. I recommend that you set the topic aside for a few months and edit existing articles to gain an understanding of what Wikipedia is looking for. See Wikipedia:Community portal for ways to help. --Worldbruce (talk) 20:08, 24 July 2018 (UTC)

- S.Jones55 - It's been deleted, I think for the second time, as a weakly-sourced advertisement. Have a look at our Notability criteria for companies, here, Wikipedia:NCORP. This will give you guidance as the kind of coverage and sources you'd need. KJP1 (talk) 17:44, 24 July 2018 (UTC)
