I conducted research about David Murnane after whom a place is named in Singapore. I would like to link the content to a page about him rather than the place (Murnane Service Reservoir)

- Hi Conor. If you have a connection to the topic you're writing about, you may have a conflict of interest. Be sure to familiarize yourself with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines in this regard, and disclose any connection as required.
- The next step in adding anything to Wikipedia is to identify your sources. Your edits to Murnane Service Reservoir demonstrate some understanding of how to do so. To justify a stand alone article about David Joseph Murnane, there must be multiple, independent, reliable, secondary sources that cover him in-depth. Of the sources cited in the reservoir article, the one in the Straits Times on the occassion of his retirement is the only one that ticks all the boxes.
- The St. Patrick's Society piece is not in-depth, it is a passing mention.
- The Rotary address is a primary source and not independent, it's a verbatim transcript of Murname's speech.
- The two book pages are not in-depth. They establish his job title and where he was at a particular time, but not much more.
- There's little hope of the draft being accepted unless more sources like the Straits Times one can be found.
- An alternative, if you're looking for a fitting tribute, might be to expand Murnane Service Reservoir, which lacks much information about the reservoir itself - its size, design, designer, construction details, and so on. Study some of Wikipedia's best articles, like Lake Burley Griffin and Hoover Dam, to get ideas of what to cover. --Worldbruce (talk) 02:11, 7 November 2016 (UTC)

- What is your question? JTP (talk • contribs) 00:22, 7 November 2016 (UTC)
- This may be about Draft:Touching there now. As the reviewers said, we do not accept drafts on neologisms unless the neologism is in sufficiently widespread use as to be notable so that an encyclopedic explanation is in order. Robert McClenon (talk) 04:01, 7 November 2016 (UTC)
