Hello, I submitted an article for creation on the Flautist Alena Lugovkina and it was declined due to the subject being non-notable, however I believe that she is indeed notable under WP:MUS points 6 & 9 as below: Point 6) She has performed as principal Flute with some of the most major orchestras in the United Kingdom on several occasions (Philharmonia Orchestra and the BBC National Orchestra of Wales). Point 9) She has won several major Flute competitions (most notably 1st Prize of the 13th International Flute Competition “Friedrich Kuhlau”) Any help would be very much appreciated. 92.29.30.205 (talk) 14:44, 24 January 2015 (UTC) 92.29.30.205 (talk) 14:44, 24 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@92.29.30.205: As to point 6, that calls for someone to be a "reasonably prominent member" of two notable ensembles, but the flautist in question only played with the Philharmonia Orchestra and the BBC National Orchestra of Wales as a guest performer. As to point 9, a "major music competition" is usually interpreted as something on the order of American Idol, the Eurovision Song Contest, etc. The Friedrich Kuhlau International Flute Competition doesn't even seem notable enough for a Wikipedia article at this point. Of course, these points are moot if you can find significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject of the article, as the general notability guidelines generally supercede WP:MUS. --Ahecht (TALK
