[edit]02:26:18, 11 February 2015 review of submission by Tts22
[edit]Hi, I am just getting started and wanted to know how much time does a typical article take to get reviewed? I had created this article almost a month back.I know there's severe backlog but giving an approximate date would be really helpful.I would also like to know where does my article stand with respect to it getting reviewed. Thanks and Cheers
Tts22 (talk) 02:26, 11 February 2015 (UTC)
- @Tts22: The current estimated time to clear the backlog is about 3 weeks. In your current state, I am concerned your submission is likely to be declined because it does not use enough reliable and independent sources. The best reference you have is the EE Times India source, but that looks like a press release, so although it may be reliable, it is not independent. I have created and submitted a new page last week and a message from JMHamo was returned explaining that I should "cite sources" which I have now edited and completed. I have re-submitted the page however, I do not see this page appear in the Afc Submissions draft list. Could you advise that this page is indeed in your waiting list. Thanking you,
John Cuthbert

- @John Cuthbert 221: Please remember to log in to your account when editing Wikipedia. You did not resubmit the draft for submission, so it was not queued. I have added two newspaper sources and passed the submission which is now at Mark McAllister. The rest of the article will also need to be appropriately sourced to meet the biography of living persons guidelines - have a look at where I've placed

[edit]
I recently created an article on the actor Samuel James and, whilst waiting for it's approval, have discovered that within the last few days someone has beaten me to it and already created one!!! The other article was pretty basic so I've since edited/added to it by copying and pasting from my own. I'm hoping this means my article (when it is looked at for approval) will now be automatically deleted. Am I right? Or is there anything further I should do??
Due to my recent edits the two articles are now practically identical...
Many thanks

- @Wikifrag: Done: I went ahead and rejected the draft as a duplicate. Thanks for your contributions! --Ahecht (TALK

[edit]I am revising the draft to remove any copyright questions and have a question. Previously we had many duplicates which resulted in a Decline and I am concerned that the numerous titles (that cannot be revised) will still result in duplicate matches when checked. Can you check the revision and let me know if it is acceptable, and if the titles will cause any problem? Thank you very much
Katya1812 (talk) 18:18, 11 February 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Katya1812, To see if there are duplicates you can look for Jeff von der Schmidt in the search box. If an article exists on the topic you want, you can edit that to improve it. Perhaps a WP:redirect needs to be created if you use a different name for the same thing. In this case your article is already accepted. So there is no need to worry about this one. 18:53:53, 11 February 2015 review of submission by DHilbert
[edit]
On Feb. 8, I submitted a new article for creation on the topic of "Alone in North America"(film). JHUbal27 declined my article the next day, questioning my topic's notability, based on the reliability of my references, and asked me to improve my references. Could you please tell me which of these references are either unreliable, or not independent - and why? Thanks for your attention.
DHilbert (talk) 18:53, 11 February 2015 (UTC)
- Hi DHilbert. Blogs are not counted as reliable, nor is IMDB as anyone can edit it. Facebook pages and twitter are not independent. But I have accepted your draft. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 01:09, 18 February 2015 (UTC)

How do I add teh photograph of the person that this article is written about?
thank you!
GK at CRG (talk) 22:55, 11 February 2015 (UTC)
- Hi GK at CRG - The answer would depend on exactly what photograph you wish to add. Please give us specific details about the photo such as a link if it is online or if it isn't online please explain how it came into your possession. The issue is mainly about ownership and copyright which we need to be very clear about before adding it anywhere on Wikipedia. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 18:20, 12 February 2015 (UTC)
