09:40:17, 14 December 2015 review of submission by 114.158.135.162

[edit]

A reviewer has declined this draft, commenting: "See WP:MUSIC". However, Pitchfork Media, PopMatters, Resident Advisor, The Skinny, and Tiny Mix Tapes discuss the album in detail, and these reviews can be used as reliable sources per WP:ALBUMS/SOURCES. Therefore, I believe the subject passes WP:NALBUMS criterion #1 ("Has been the subject of multiple, non-trivial, published works appearing in sources that are reliable, not self-published, and are independent from the musician or ensemble who created it"). Could someone please take a second look? 114.158.135.162 (talk) 09:40, 14 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to the Help Desk! I'm not the original reviewer, but one reason might be a sentence from the policy guideliens at WP:NALBUMS:

Notability aside, a standalone article is only appropriate when there is enough material to warrant a reasonably detailed article; articles unlikely ever to grow beyond stubs should be merged into the artist's article or discography.

Is there any more material about the album that could be included (perhaps details of its recording or further reviewing information)? Thanks, /wia🎄/tlk 01:54, 16 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Why was this not accepted? Other scientists with less national recognition have pages. This page is for a scientist. Can you list the criteria required for a this scientist to be given a page, just like the others on Wikipedia? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenneth_Kaushansky https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lin_Chieh-liang https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carol_Remmer_Angle

I am happy to add the lengthy awards and honors in a list and memberships and service (many many pages) but I kept it short, succinct to be brief. I am baffled that a noted renal toxicologist is not worthy of a page, but unknown people are....can you assist?

This is NOT a page about me. This is a university-written page about a scientist.Jgsrgs1010 (talk) 20:44, 14 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jgsrgs1010, Awards and honors (only the most significant ones) would probably be very useful to add to the draft. You should also trim the very long list of publications down to just a handful of the most important ones. On Wikipedia, unlike in the academic world, what a person himself writes is of very little significance for the person's notability. We need to see what other people have written about Schnellmann and his work - award and honors citations can be very useful sources for such information.
