[edit]

Since it's been about a month since I submitted this entry, I'm wondering whether it's actually in the queue for review or whether I made an error when I submitted it that took it out of the queue. Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/John Wesley Ross Thanks. Ken Alexander Kenrossalex (talk) 02:38, 21 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Checked. It is properly submitted. There is a notice at the bottom that reads "Review waiting" and "The Articles for creation process is highly backlogged. Please be patient." Anon126 (talk - contribs) 02:54, 21 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I think this user screwed up

Wikipedia:Articles for creation/Code Geass Akito The Exiled and Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Code Geass Akito The Exiled don't seem to match other AFC formats. In any case, the article is using an unsuitable image and should be speedly declined and/or deleted. DragonZero (Talk · Contribs) 03:56, 21 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Review of User talk:Yogaraj

[edit]

[[Wikipedia talk:Yogaraj born on 6 dec 1991 at Oldwashermenpet Chennai he was fineshed schooling was Dhanalakshmi hr.sec.school Comepled B.com(cs) at Presidency college chennai/Yogaraj]] (replace the " Yogaraj" — Preceding unsigned comment added by Yogu Thala (talkcontribs) 03:57, 21 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It's unclear what you are asking. Can you explain a bit better? There is a page User talk:Yogaraj, but it has only a welcome message on it. Are you the same person? As for User:Yogu Thala/sandbox, I see that you have submitted this for review. It would be failed immediately. There are no references at all, just a broken link to some sort of blog, and it appears to be about yourself. I see that you have also placed the same material at User talk:Yogu Thala and User:Yogu Thala. Are you trying to create a Wikipedia article about someone else or yourself? It is not appropriate to create an article about yourself. For guidance, please read What Wikipedia is not. Voceditenore (talk) 09:10, 21 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Makari (Band) Deletion.

[edit]

I received two messages saying that my article has not been accepted.

A page with this title has previously been deleted. If you are creating a new page with different content, please continue. If you are recreating a page similar to the previously deleted page, or are unsure, please first contact the deleting administrator using the information provided below and Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed! The submission has not been accepted because it included copyrighted information, which is not permitted on Wikipedia. You are welcome to write an article on the subject, but please do not use copyrighted work.

I am a little confused by this. Copyright? The band owns this information and it was given to me by my son who is the frontman for this band, with the band's permission to create a Wiki page for them. This is information that was written by the band for public information. As far as a previous article being deleted, I believe that may have been done prematurely and by my son who was struggling to figure out how to submit the article, which is why he asked me to do it.

Can you please respond and give me some advice on how to get this article published? Thank you so much — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tank1105 (talkcontribs) 12:27, 21 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Material on Wikipedia has to be freely licensed, which the band's website is presumably not. You could freely license the text as described at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials, but it would probably make more sense simply to write it in your own words. Also, to be accepted as a Wikipedia article, the band would need to meet the notability criteria mentioned in Wikipedia:BAND. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 12:48, 21 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I want to edit the biography of a Montreal actor. His name is Martin Watier. How can I do that. [[Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation: User:Mayamerl/sandbox (March 20)Mayamerl (talk) 12:36, 21 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Check out Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners to see how to add references to your submission, which you will need to prove the notability of the individual. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 12:46, 21 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,

I would like some help on updating/formatting the citations for Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/American Standards. They have been updated in the body of the wiki using the edit page however the changes do not reflect at the bottom of the page under citations.

I'm also hoping to understand how to get the picture of the band to show by the bands name. I reviewed the coding on other artist pages and did a fair amount of research online but still am unable to figure it out. The picture coding is in the edit page but does not appear when I review.

Thank you!

Hi FoundationAgency. I'm not clear what you mean about changes to the references not reflecting in the citations at the bottom of the page. The references seem to be displaying correctly as far as I can see.
As regards the image, you need to upload it to either Wikipedia or Wikimedia Commons for it to be useable - having it at picresize.com is no use. If you own the copyright to the image, for example because it's a photograph that you took yourself, then upload it at Wikimedia Commons (with the Upload file link on the left) and then put the filename into the infobox back at the draft Wikipedia article. Hi Arthur!

I've tried using the commongrounds code below with no luck. Any other ideas? Thanks again!

Oops, forgot about this. Now fixed as noted below. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 10:58, 25 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there! I just submitted our company profile, Bruno Event Team. Also, I noticed that when you google "Bruno Event Team", it brings up the golf tournament Regions Charity Classic. Although they do relate, we don't necessarily want it to bring up that tournament and would rather have Bruno Event Team's wiki pull up first.

You can't just copy your website into Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not here to promote your business for free. It's an encyclopedia, not an online advertising brochure. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 16:45, 21 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The draft was deleted 20 minutes ago as an unambiguous copyright infringement. Note also that drafts do not appear on the Google search engine. Voceditenore (talk) 20:49, 21 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Helpdesk, I need some guidance on getting an article posted on Wikipedia. I have attempted several times to post this article: Articles for creation/Zeenyx Software. Twice I have been denied for lack of notability. This most recent attempt included 5 good, reliable third party sources. I studied the notability criteria and believe that my article does in fact meet the requirements. Can you help. Thanks Blesuer (talk) 19:03, 21 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Blesuer, let's look at your references:
1. is a presentation by the company of its own product
2. no link or article title given, but probably more of the same
3. is the company's CEO talking about his own company in a trade publication
4. was clearly written by the company itself, note "Our solution produces robust, easy to maintain tests, developed without a requirement for programming experience."
5. is a presentation by the company of its own product
Now, read Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies) and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations, which will put all this into context for you.

I have updated my article on Philip H. Hilder, linking to it from other articles so that it is no longer an orphan. I would like orphan status removed, please. Thank you. 3/22/14 KitFriedenKitFrieden (talk) 19:33, 21 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Kit. I've removed it as well as the categorization tag and the stub tag. In future, you can do this as well, provided you feel that what the tag s were flagging up is now remedied. Best, Voceditenore (talk) 20:43, 21 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I created a page on behalf of my company, with my company name as the username. It was rejected, because Wikipedia's rules state you cannot create a page on behalf of a company (along with some other issues I think I resolved and changed in the copy). I created a page with my own username, and copied the Wikitext to be approved to that page and sent it in for approval. Unfortunately, before I realized the issue with the username, I sent in my company username page to be approved as well. Will I be penalized for having submitted 2 pages with the same copy to be approved? What is the best way to deal with this issue? I just want one page under my username to be reviewed for approval.

I've corrected the article link in the section heading.
Wikipedia requires references to independent, reliable sources of information, such as news articles, magazine articles, television programs, films, and so on. This ensures that Wikipedia articles are verifiable (information can be checked) and about notable subjects (those that have been discussed by people independent of the subject). If you need help citing sources, you can go to the introduction to referencing (a quick tutorial) or referencing for beginners (more detailed information). Anon126 (talk - contribs) 22:20, 21 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
