[edit]

Hello, I am trying to write an article on the above but it keeps getting rejected and I don't know why. The Andrew Berry mentioned in the article The Weeds (Indie Band) links to another Andew Berry and not the one in the one mentioned. Thank you Lucy Lucyarnott (talk) 01:37, 16 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Firstly, you should use inline citations to clarify which of your sources supports which of the draft's statements. Secondly, at a glance most of your sources mention Berry only in passing without providing any detailed coverage. That's likely not enough to establish that Berry is notable enough for an article. My submission was not accepted. Why?Naz nizami (talk) 12:58, 16 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

As Anne Delong said in her reply, that draft cites no reliable sources such as newspaper articles about Nizami. We need such sources both to establish that Nizami is notable enough for an article and to allow our readers to verify the content. Huon (talk) 14:23, 16 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

User:Lisaweinert/sandbox Why was my page declined? Lisaweinert (talk) 20:23, 16 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I assume you mean User:Lisaweinert/sandbox, so I have corrected the links above. Does the explanation in the pink box not help:?--ukexpat (talk) 20:38, 16 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please read the advice in the pink box at the top of your article? You have not clearly demonstrated that he meets WP:Notability (that is, that news media, academia, etc. have found fit to write about him and his importance) and you have not provided any WP:Sourcing. Is there any media or academic coverage of Adonai and his career?
Also, it appears you're writing about yourself, which is a very bad idea though not completely banned. Please see WP:Autobiography for why this is ill-advised. MatthewVanitas (talk) 22:24, 16 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This is my first article, so there's no telling what I may have bungled.

A) In the process of attempting to submit an article about David Tineo I believe I may have submitted the article twice. Does this gum anything up?

B) When checking to see if the article had been reviewed I clicked my way to the following page:

https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/David_Tineo_Draft&diff=prev&oldid=570884571

It urges me to press a "Save" button ... but no such button appears on the page. I'm confused.

C) A separate note says that a bot removed some cruft from my article categories. (I never quite figured those out.) But the article looks unchanged. Am I misinterpreting the note? Is the bot urging me to make those changes myself? If so, is it possible I'll make the changes to one version of this article (see "A", above) but not the other?

Thank you for any advice you can render.

You haven't submitted the draft twice, and if you had, the worst that would happen is that it would be dated by the latest submission.
The "press save page" comment is a relic of when you submitted the draft; the submission will come with instructions, and the instructions will remain after you have actually submitted it. That comment could be removed.
Drafts should not be included in article categories (yet). Thus the bot changed the category code and turned [[Category:American artists]] into [[:Category:American artists]] and so on - the former would add the page to the category (a kind of sorting tool used to group articles by essential, defining features), the latter just adds a link to the category page: Category:American artists. That will automatically be reverted once the draft is accepted. Huon (talk) 02:33, 17 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to know why the Article Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Perfect Vodka® was rejected. It is a legitimate brand that was just purchased from Perfect 1864 vodka. My sources are reliable and the information is accredited Perfect Brands LLC (talk) 23:33, 16 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I think you may have meant Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Perfect Vodka? - David Biddulph (talk) 23:40, 16 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Read the decline message - it explains why it was rejected. ~Charmlet -talk- 23:41, 16 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The draft has been deleted as spam/advertising. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 09:19, 18 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
