Can someone please tell me if there is a format for referencing journal articles that are behind a paywall? Apologies if the question is a bit simplistic, I am quite new to this. I am trying to get this article created and currently losing the will to live over the stupid thing!!! [Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Disabled People Against Cuts (DPAC)]

The group have received large amounts of media coverage for actions undertaken, so it is easy to reference the sections where it is just about a protest or event that was organised. However, to make sense I believe the article also needs the basic factual information, when they were founded, where, why, by whom, etc, and in my initial drafts the references I had for that are mostly the organisations own web site. I have a number of other references I could use which come from various articles from the academic journal 'Disability and Society' but this journal is behind a paywall. I can access it from my uni account, but not otherwise. Therefore a reader of the Wikipedia page could not necessarily follow the reference. If I can use these journal articles I can probably cut the organisations own web page out of the list of sources.

I have also referenced one academic text book, but it doesn't look quite right, as the authors name is showing up as a broken link, when it isn't supposed to be a link at all. The book can be read through both google books and through amazon, but both are incomplete. It makes more sense to just reference it as a text book, surely?

If I can get enough sources so that I am not using the organisations own web site, is it also possible to have a list of links at the end, and put it there? To cite academic journals use {{cite journal}}. Don't worry about the paywall, as long as some readers have access via college libraries to verify the citations it's ok to cite paywalled sources. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 19:13, 3 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
