[edit]Could you explain the "self-references" and the "trivial mentions?" — Preceding unsigned comment added by Blackstone12 (talk • contribs) 00:50, 2 July 2013 (UTC)
- The first three sources are the Caribbean Journal itself; that's self-referential. The other sources mention the journal only in passing, often in "... said the Caribbean Journal" style, without any detailed coverage. That's not enough to establish that it's a notable publication. For that, we'd need multiple third-party sources writing at least a paragraph each about it. Huon (talk) 03:20, 2 July 2013 (UTC)
Review of Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/S.Saki
[edit]Hi, I just wanted 2 know that whats so disppointig about my article. It about a famous writer and u guys rejected it!! Please ,I really want 2 know? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gaurisaki (talk • contribs) 04:04, 2 July 2013 (UTC)
- The reason for declining is given in the grey box on the pink review template. In this case your draft has no references at all. See Help:Referencing for beginners for guidance on how to use references. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 06:44, 2 July 2013 (UTC)

Review of Articles for Creation/Austin Basis
[edit]Is there anybody who could help me with my article (Austin Basis)? I don't know why the article was declined.
Thank you very much in advance.
Jazzy2412 (talk) 13:15, 2 July 2013 (UTC)
- If you mean Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Austin Basis (Actor), it currently has no independent sources other than IMDB; which is not considered a reliable source for Wikipedia. The individual's large number of acting roles makes it seem very likely that he is notable; you should use newspaper or magazine articles about him, or any TV/movie reviews that discuss his acting in detail, as sources to evidence this notability in the article submission. I am not sure how to improve on this as I have put the references in, including three newspapers and a journal. (Jollyboys2000 (talk) 13:34, 2 July 2013 (UTC))(jollyboys2000)

Article Declined - Reliable Sources
[edit]Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Reliable Citations
Good morning -
I recently submitted an article for review that was declined due to insufficient reliable sources. I know that I followed the citation templates and included inline references to online content, press releases and news articles. Can you please help me pinpoint what needs to be amended/added in order to be in compliance?
Thank you so much!

- In your submission Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/First Title & Escrow, only two of the sources provided are independent of the organisation, as far as I can see. This is not really enough to prove the notability of the organisation. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 13:49, 2 July 2013 (UTC)
An AFC keeps turning up with a stub tag
[edit]Articles_for_creation/DJ_KIDRAVI has now twice been given {{stub}} and {{orphan}} tags - it's obviously getting into the wrong stream somewhere (and turns up in Category:Stubs waiting to be stub-sorted). I don't know whether it's in the wrong place to start with - I'm not an AFC afficionado, so I hope someone here can sort it out. Thanks. PamD 18:06, 2 July 2013 (UTC)
- That draft is in the article namespace; Pol430 moved an earlier version to WT:Articles for creation/DJ KIDRAVI, but it was recreated in article space. I'll notify the author. Not sure what to do about the mainspace draft - technically a histmerge may be the best option, but it seems a lot of work for a very small return. Huon (talk) 18:14, 2 July 2013 (UTC)
Request for Reconsideration
[edit]Hello! Recently, our submission was denied by your reviewers. The submission is titled Wikipedia talk: Articles for creation/Common Career Technical Core (CCTC). The submission can be found at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Common_Career_Technical_Core_(CCTC).
I would respectfully request that someone re-review this submission. This is not an advertisement, but rather a serious submission to document the educational standards in the Common Career Technical Core. This is not a product for sale. Wikipedia has published submissions for educational standards before (See the Next Generation Science Standards (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Next_Generation_Science_Standards) and Common Core State Standards (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_Core_State_Standards)). We modeled our submission on both of those previously accepted submissions. We also included outside sources to validate our submission.
Please help us understand how our submission is different from those that you have previously accepted and what we would need to change in order to make our submission more acceptable to Wikipedia's standards.
Thank you! Melinda Lloyd Communications Consultant National Association of State Directors of Career Technical Education Consortium (NASDCTEc) NASDCTEc (talk) 18:43, 2 July 2013 (UTC)
- Hi, I have re-reviewed the submission and it appears to me that you have modeled the submission more on your own website and associated documents than existing WIkipedia articles. This notwithstanding, the existence of similar articles is largely irrelevant – see WP:OTHERSTUFF. Also, a significant amount of the body text is closely paraphrased from copyrighted web sources, which is another barrier to its creation. As an aside, your username violates our username policy as it both implies shared use of the account and appears promotional. Pol430 talk to me 22:13, 2 July 2013 (UTC)
- As an aside, I've been guiding this user on how to change usernames. There's a request in the queue now. --Drm310 (talk) 16:39, 3 July 2013 (UTC)
I created a page for a widely cited historian who is the founding (and current) editor of an important journal (National Identities) in the field of nationalism studies. I entered a list of books that he has written and linked to some articles about his giving lectures and so forth. But the article was denied. My question is, what would an historian have to do to have his article approved, I mean, aside form writng books and articles, having his books and articles widely cited, and founding a well-regarded journal? Should I list his more important articles, in addition to his books?(Truegood (talk) 20:04, 2 July 2013 (UTC))
- Basically we need more about the man himself, what we have now is a list of books by Peter Catterall with a brief intro - but as it is meant to be a biography, what can you add about Peter Catterall the person? Where and when was he born? Tell us about his education, the progress of his career. Is he married, does he have children? Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 20:33, 2 July 2013 (UTC)
