- This page is for questions about the Articles for creation process. Please consider asking this question at the Wikipedia:Reference desk. They specialize in knowledge questions and will try to answer any question in the universe (except how to use Wikipedia, since that is what the Help Desk is for). Just follow the link, select the relevant section, and ask away. You could always try searching Wikipedia for an article related to the topic you want to know more about. I hope this helps. Just wondering how I can make this work - I reviewed other retailers "non-advertisement" wikipedia pages and they seem very similar. Looking at Relax the Back or Brookstones or Tempur-Pedic. If you have suggestions on what the Healthy Back Store page is doing wrong it would be appreciated. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.148.100.118 (talk) 14:49, 15 June 2012 (UTC)
- Two issues: Firstly, your draft relies heavily on primary sources. The lead, the "product line" and the "resources" sections don't have any reliable secondary sources at all. Content should not be based on primary sources.
- Secondly, the tone is anything but encyclopedic. The retailer "provides high end comfort solutions and ergonomic focused products"? That's marketingspeak. The founder's personal history of back problems, while indeed supported by a secondary source, is nevertheless off-topic for an article on the retailer and should be significantly shortened. These are just two examples - there are lengthy passages of laudatory text unsupported by secondary sources.
- I haven't looked at the other articles you mention, but while other problematic articles exist, that's no reason to create more. Huon (talk) 15:09, 15 June 2012 (UTC)
Hello,
I submitted a new article for creation entitled "Airborne Tactical Advantage Company", and I would like to know what else I should do to get my article released. The article is not for advertising and I do not work for ATAC. Thank you.

- A nicely written start. Only one significant problem that I can see - references to websites must include a link to the web page in the reference itself. Don't list them separately under External links. Roger (talk) 17:06, 15 June 2012 (UTC)
"University of California Center for Hydrologic Modeling" Submission
[edit]Hello,
I recently submitted an article for the Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/University of California Center for Hydrologic Modeling (UCCHM) and it was rejected by an editor based on "lack of reliable sources." The submission has 6 verifiable sources, so I don't understand this reasoning.
Also, a similar article on the "University of California Humanities Research Institute" (a comparable institution at the University of California, Irvine) has only 2 sources.
Can someone explain to me why my article was rejected and what I can do to fix it?
Thank you, Callie

- As the reviewer's comment said, four of those references are primary sources - the center's own website or those of other departments within the University of California, Irvine. Furthermore, most of your references do not even mention the UCCHM. Notability requires significant coverage in reliable secondary sources - maybe there are newspaper articles discussing the center?
- Regarding the University of California Humanities Research Institute: Other articles with insufficient sources exist, but that's no reason to create more. Huon (talk) 18:19, 15 June 2012 (UTC)
Hellow to everybody! I submitted the article in the name of Lala Hanumant Sahai - A revolutionary of Chandni Chowk who died unknown and unnoticed. Kindly help me to make it better. Whether only one web citation would be sufficient to cover the reliable source or not. Although I have given some other sources from Hindi books also. Kindly guide me properly whether I can quote the relevent contents in English (manually translated by myself) or not. Thanks in anticipation if any body help me. - First of all, significant parts of the draft are currently copied verbatim from the The Hindu article. That is a copyright violation; those parts will have to be rewritten. I have my doubts about the sufficiency of that one web citation, but since there's no requirement for sources to be available online and you do have other sources, you don't need to rely exclusively on that one. Admittedly I have my doubts about some of the other sources, too. For example, Manmath Nath Gupta was not a historian, political scientist or other academian, and some of his books are fictional, so much would depend on the nature of his book used as a reference. With other books I had trouble to find them at all.
- On the matter of translating sources, WP:NOENG says: "When quoting a source in a different language, provide the original text and an English translation, either in the body of the article or in a footnote." In this case, I'd suggest adding your translations to the footnotes. Huon (talk) 18:45, 15 June 2012 (UTC)
- Hellow! As per your advice I have this day edited the full article and resubmitted the same for reviewal. So far as translating of WP:NOENG sources are concerned, kindly guide me how to proceed further. Thanks Krantmlverma (talk) 17:49, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
- My advice would be to provide short, directly relevant excerpts of the Hindi sources and English translations of those excerpts in the footnotes. Huon (talk) 01:33, 17 June 2012 (UTC)
- Hellow Mr.Huon! As per your proper guidence provided to me I have this day incorporated the required footnotes in the abovementioned article. I hope you would be kind enough to review the captioned page recently created by me. With regards,Krantmlverma (talk) 07:43, 17 June 2012 (UTC)
