- Scope and Mission of WikiProject Animation
- WikiProject Animation aims to improves all articles about animation, including animation studios, animators, animation directors, animated television series, animated films, animated characters and so on. However, we acknowledge and are grateful for the work of other projects in the field, and will reserve the majority of our attention to that content which does not fall within the scope of other active projects. This project does not cover any anime series or films and manga series. Any articles related to anime series or films and manga should be within the scope of WikiProject Anime and manga instead of WikiProject Animation. Currently, it has 15 work groups, 13 members, and it has over 9,400 articles and pages within the scope.
- Project news
- WikiProject Animation has undergone its renovation back in November, to help get the project going. The peer review department has been setup to conduct peer reviews of articles on request; this helps to obtain ideas for further improvement by having contributors who may not have previously worked on particular articles examine them, along with the outreach department.
- With the continued inactive WikiProject consolidation and cleanup, WikiProject American Dad! was deleted back in January due to no activity since 2008.
- Our sister project, WikiProject Cartoon Network was officially declared historical and defunct back in April due to no activity since 2009, following the Miscellany for deletion discussion which was nominated for deletion back in March, including WikiProject Cartoon Network subpages (the Adult Swim task force, Aqua Teen Hunger Force task force and Ben 10 task force) and coordinators Baa (talk · contribs) (aka Treelo (talk · contribs)) and Yngvarr (talk · contribs) are both retired.
- Another WikiProject, WikiProject The Cleveland Show was deleted due to false start and no activity.
- Recently, WikiProject Animation has convert WikiProject Cartoon Network into a work group along with Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Adult Swim and Ben 10 task force which has been inactive since 2008. The Animation is currently in the process of removing of the {{WikiProject Cartoon Network}} banner and with our project banner. A new work group, Hanna-Barbera was formed.
- Animation portal
- Our Animation portal in currently looking in good shape and currently has 49 selected articles, 20 selected pictures, 15 selected biographies and 10 selected lists. We hope you help get the Animation portal into featured portal status.
