Houda Ghorbel - is a Tunisian multidisciplinary independent artists. She is continuously looking for new inspirations and sources to express herself. Houda's works interweave painting, sculpture, ceramics, photography, video and installation and reflects both a strong artistic commitment and an involvement in philosophy and politics criticism. She has participated in several international and national exhibitions and she is awarded for the Artists in Residency programme for the Africa Centre.
EDUCATION
[edit]She did her Doctor of Philosophy in Science and Technology for the Higher Institute of Fine Art in Tunis.
PERSONAL EXHIBITIONS AND PERFORMANCES
[edit]As described earlier Houda participated in several international and national exhibitions. She participated the following personal exhibitions:
- 2013 : "Believe in yourself and plant your dream...” It’s an interactive performance in nature. It’s open to anyone to enter into a world where he can cultivate his dreams.
- 2012-2013 : « Push with me, my voice is nothing without yours... », it’s a street art
performance of a symbolic march to DEMOCRACY which is achieved in many cities of Tunisia : Tunis, Sfax, Sousse, Gabes, Bizerte and Mahdia.
- 2012 : " Under My Flag...”, is a video performed by Houda Ghorbel and wadi Mhiri
with the collaboration of Sejnane Potter Women and the team that organized “Laaroussa” project.
- 2004: "Ceramics", Art Gallery Present, Paris, France.

- 2014 : Prize of Soleil d’Afrique Center in 11th Biennale of Contemporain African Art, Dak'art 2014.
- 2013 : Video performance, Africa en América, Brazil.
- 2012 : Grant, AFAC EXPRESSS, Arab Fund for Arts and Culture, Liban.
- 2003 : First prize, Céramique Art, Galerie of fine art, Sfax, Tunisia.
- 1995 : Second prize, Automne exhibition painting, El Marsa Galerie, Tunis.
Also Houda presented a paper titled: Your body is mine… at the conference of the research team Ceramics in Tunisia for present in 2008. And in 2007 she printed a paper, which is titled Where is you head?
