Welcome to the Women's ice hockey task force, an initiative of WikiProject Women's sport.

- Players, clubs, managers, leagues and competitions, seasons and associated articles
- National teams
- International women's ice hockey competitions including tournaments and matches
Our main goals are to:
- ensure women's ice hockey articles are represented on Wikipedia by creating and editing related articles
- establish and organize standards for Women's ice hockey-related articles resulting in well-written articles
- improve the visibility of articles related to women's ice hockey by nominating them for DYK placement on the Wikipedia homepage, or improving them to good or featured status
To join, please add your name to the Members section. There are many ways for you to contribute - small and large. If you have a question, post it on the task force's main talk page.
Notability criteria
[edit]Although there are no top women's leagues expressly included in WikiProject Hockey's notability guideline: WP:NHOCKEY, there is often enough media coverage about a player, team, or league to meet the WP:GNG guideline, which takes precedence over WP:NHOCKEY. For college athletes and coaches, see WP:NCOLLATH. For youth, see WP:YOUNGATH. For Olympians, see WP:NOLYMPICS.
The key to ensuring that an article that you create is not deleted is providing adequate referencing to meet WP:GNG or WP:SPORTCRIT.
- Make sure the article talk page is tagged with {{WikiProject Women's sport|icehockey=yes}}, so that other editors can further improve the article or contribute to an Articles for deletion (AfD) discussion, if needed.
If you have any questions or run into any issues, feel free to post them on the project's talk page.
