This page is a collaborative effort of students from Michigan State University. The primary goal of this project is to create a virtual bookshelf for administrators of Wikipedia as well as those who want to learn about administrators. Information about administrators is spread all across the site in various places and this is designed to consolidate those links and information into a one-stop shop.
Wikipedia is...
a free content encyclopedia written from a neutral point of view contributed by a civil worldwide community.
As an administrator you...
represent what Wikipedia and the community stand for
This page is designed to grow with the user. First you learn what it takes to be an admin. From there you dive more in depth into admin responsibilities and onto the current admin tab where there are countless links to important policies, guidelines, templates, scripts, noticeboards, etc. that admins need in one place. To add interaction to the learning experience, there is the added bonus of the community and help sections. The community section is where users from any level of knowledge can learn about adminship accomplishments, current WikiProjects, community news and thoughts from current admins on relevant topics. The help tab allows users to get answers to their questions directly from an administrator instantly.
Learn how to become an admin, including the official RfA process and the unofficial requirements and expectations.
Brush up on the responsibilities of an administrator. This is helpful for future or current administrators as well as people who simply want to learn.
Find helpful links that current administrators use often. These include the many Wikipedia rules and guidelines, resources such as templates, scripts and gadgets, and noticeboards that current admins frequently visit.
Read about accomplishments and other events happening in the admin community. These include links to accomplishments including successful past and current WikiProjects, dispute resolutions, articles outside of Wikipedia and discussion of any current movements (good or bad), problems, changes, etc. in the community. Thoughts from current admins on relevant topics are included here as well.
