Welcome to the USRD Resources Department! This page lists a variety of maps, resources and other databases that may be helpful in editing national roads articles.
Nationwide

- 1927 Rand McNally
- American Geographical Society Library Digital Map Collection
- Auto trail maps
- Broer Map Library - Online Historic Maps, including many after numbers were assigned
- Historic Aerials, nationwide collection of USGS topographic maps (and aerials for some locations) seamlessly joined over modern map data (Note: dates given for topos don't always reflect correct revision shown)
- Historic Map Works, including some relatively recent atlases
- Maptech: Historical Topographic Maps
- Historic USGS Maps of New England & NY, a subset of the above
- Ontario Road Map Site - mostly covers only Ontario and sometimes Quebec, but some "spill over" into New York and Michigan, and he scanned the eastern half of a 1936 U.S. map
- Perry-Castañeda Library Map Collection: topographic maps (when uploading to commons, remember: commons:Template:PCL should be added in addition to a copyright tag)
- University of Alabama Historical Map Archive, including old USGS topos from all over the U.S., and some highway maps from other states, including Georgia and Tennessee

- National Bridge Inventory, provides approximate years when bridges and overpasses were completed
