Michael Jackson (1958–2009) was an American recording artist, entertainer, and philanthropist. He debuted on the professional music scene as a member of the Jackson 5 and began a solo career in 1971 while still a member of the group. Referred to as the "King of Pop" in subsequent years, Jackson became an influential figure in popular music and the first African-American to have a strong crossover following on MTV. He donated and raised hundreds of millions of dollars for beneficial causes, and is recognized by Guinness World Records for supporting more charities than any other musician. Other aspects of Jackson's life—including his changing appearance and personal relationships—generated controversy. Jackson's achievements include multiple world records—including one for "Most Successful Entertainer of All Time"—the estimated sale of over 750 million albums worldwide, and dozens of awards, which have made him the most awarded recording artist in the history of music. 75th birthday is in nine years and 25th death anniversary is in eleven.. 750h+ 14:49, 12 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. Not much to say here; the name "Michael Jackson" should be enough. Very well written blurb, and I think it's kind of a big ask to wait nearly 10 years to rerun his article. joeyquism (talk page) 23:10, 14 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose Since we already have a lot of pop-culture running, and 66th is a very strange random number. So running for MJ's 70th birthday would make more sense and be a better alternative. Harizotoh9 (talk) 05:43, 15 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment: Michael Jackson will appear on the Main Page as part of "On This Day" on June 25, the 15th anniversary of his death. I was the one who rotated the events and births and deaths for 2024. So shall we continue with the TFAR request or have this withdrawn as soon as possible? ScarletViolet (talkcontribs) 13:15, 15 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Coordinator note: I am disinclined to run this, for the reasons given above and because it has already been a TFA, albeit in 2010. Further input to the discussion is welcome. Gog the Mild (talk) 18:23, 15 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ok let’s archive this. I’d be happy to wait until seventieth. (or should i untransclude it?) 750h+ 00:47, 16 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
