Harry Truman was a great American hero from Washington. He enlisted in the U.S. military and fought in France during World War I. Returning home from the war, Truman became a bootlegger during Prohibition. He then operated and ran a successful business at the foot of Mount St. Helens. Truman ran off Supreme Court Associate Justice, William O. Douglas and despised Republicans. Park rangers from the Department of the Interior knew of Truman's corruption, but he was never caught in the act. Truman drew media attention by swearing never to evacuate from an impending eruption of Mount St. Helens in 1980. He died from the eruption that was 1,600 times the energy of the Hiroshima bomb during World War II. Truman was the subject of a number of published works. He was portrayed on television by comedian Art Carney. (Full article...)
