There is no need to individually thank every single person who comments on your request for adminship.
It annoys some recipients, it wastes your own time, and it proves nothing. It is far better to add a note of thanks at the bottom of the discussion, or on the discussion talk page.
There is no need to send individual THANK notifications after every single edit that every person makes to an article or talk page you created or edit frequently.
It annoys some recipients, and it gives the impression of ownership. It is far better to restrict the use of the THANK button to edits which you found particularly appropriate, or after a period of heavy editing to add a note of thanks at the bottom of the article or discussion talk page.
