There are enough Simpsons navboxes. No direct article on this specific topic, seems a bit WP:FANCRUFTy to me. --woodensuperman 16:25, 4 December 2023 (UTC)

Outline articles aren't anything special. Being listed on one does not make an article more important. There are already WikiProject banners on pages using these, and {{Vital article}} on pages which are more "important". These just clutter the talk page and add to banner blindness. Gonnym (talk) 13:31, 27 November 2023 (UTC)
- Let's take a look at your arguments. "Outline articles aren't anything special, and therefore banners to them should be deleted." So, delete, because you don't think they lead somewhere special? That's an "I don't like it" argument, and therefore an invalid reason for deletion. The next one is "The banner doesn't make the article more important, and so it should be deleted." Making an article more important is a thing? No, it's not. There is zero policy or guideline documentation on making articles more important. (To the contrary, trying to make an article seem more important smacks of POV pushing, and is against policy.) It looks like you just made these reasons up, rather than find policy-or-guideline-based criteria for deletion. Then you accuse them of being clutter and blinding the reader, when apparently you don't seem to know what purpose they serve. What are they for? Why were they made? Someone who apparently cared a lot about the overarching subjects conscientiously placed these banners. Is it to show editors where the parent topic is being organized so that they could help manage Wikipedia's coverage of it, or to lead editors to check if the topic is properly situated in the parent outline? Or was it for some other purpose? Until we know why the templates were placed, and what actual policy- or guideline-based deletion criteria are applicable, I'm opposed to deleting them. — The Transhumanist 00:24, 28 November 2023 (UTC)
when apparently you don't seem to know what purpose they serve
I'm not going to assume good faith for the rest my comment. Their purpose is very claer since they are a one sentence banner - to improve the current article and to draw people to the outline article. I just disagree that the use of a banner is appropriate. Since you failed to read the text above in TfD, you'd see that there is a peice of text that saysTemplates for which none of these apply may be deleted by consensus here
- often, a template does not violate any guideline or policy, but is just bad. In this case, these banners are somewhat redundant to the WikiProject banners and the Vitale article banner, clutter the top of the talk page, and add to Banner blindness. While you might not see this as an issue other editors do and TfD has been deleting banners similar to these for the same reasons. Gonnym (talk) 06:59, 28 November 2023 (UTC)
