The result of the discussion was delete. First review constituents to verify categorization per Jonesey95. (non-admin closure) Bsherr (talk) 03:13, 19 August 2020 (UTC)
It doesn't conform with the navigation template guidelines. It presents several articles without coherence subject.Guilherme Burn (talk) 18:05, 11 August 2020 (UTC)
- Delete after ensuring that each of the articles is a member of Category:Criticisms or one of its subcategories. Fails navbox criteria 3 and 5. Categories make much more sense for a grouping like this. – Jonesey95 (talk) 03:24, 12 August 2020 (UTC)

The result of the discussion was merge to Template:Heads of State of Germany. There is a consensus to merge. Discussion on style/formatting of the final template, and for the timeframe and individuals for inclusion (noting that the template included heads of state dated back to 1871, until the day of this TfD when that was unilaterally removed) is a discussion better suited for the talk. Whether there should be a suffix of the year, and what that suffix should be, would naturally follow from the answer to the previous question. Duplication. DrKay (talk) 12:19, 11 August 2020 (UTC)
- Merge all into one Mr Hall of England (talk) 21:42, 11 August 2020 (UTC)
- I agree with merging but it would be innaccurate to include the likes of Hitler in a list of "Presidents", per-se. The original template already has all of the info merged, I say redirect other templates to it, including your other merge proposal. Altanner1991 (talk) 01:05, 12 August 2020 (UTC)
- Merge the two templates but remove
both the "acting heads of state" (they never were presidents)andthe artificial distinction (right now present in either template between Weimar Republic/Third Reich (doubling Hindenburg) and West Germany/Reunified Germany (doubling Weizsäcker). The two sections should be "German Reich" and "Federal Republic of Germany". The inclusion of Hitler is a special case. Str1977 (talk) 08:09, 12 August 2020 (UTC) PS. We have to also consider what the merged template should be called. The two templates only start in 1918 (hence there are at least three heads of state not included and potentially many, many more) but not all heads of state after 1918 were presidents - not only Hitler (who is a special case) but most of East Germany. If the template is called "German presidenst", all the acting heads of state should be excluced. Str1977 (talk) 11:15, 12 August 2020 (UTC)
- "German heads of state since 1919" would seem to cover it. DrKay (talk) 13:05, 12 August 2020 (UTC)
- I disagree. It is unsourced to blanket every non-hereditary head of state as a "president". Altanner1991 (talk) 19:33, 12 August 2020 (UTC)
- I think Dr Kay was suggesting to call the merged template "German heads of state since 1919" and not "German presidents". The latter name would indeed require removing all that were not presidents, which is severely problematic for Hitler and, since we want to include the DDR, all but one of the heads of state there (Ulbricht, Stoph, Honecker, Krenz, Gerlach, Bergmann-Pohl would have to go - only Pieck was President).
- I would slightly tweak the suggest name to "German heads of state (since 1919)".
- However, I would have no problem in including WilhelmFriedrichWilhelm as well. Str1977 (talk) 17:11, 13 August 2020 (UTC)
- Yes that is (basically) exactly like my original proposal so I agree, but I am not sure how one could find the proper rationale to include, as you say, "WilhelmFriedrichWilhelm". Altanner1991 (talk) 21:19, 13 August 2020 (UTC)

- Merge all to avoid duplication. Zakaria1978 (talk) 05:07, 13 August 2020 (UTC)
- Merge and use the full names. There is no reason not to use full names here. --Gonnym (talk) 20:13, 14 August 2020 (UTC)
