The result of the discussion was merge. This is a closure for all the "medal templates" in todays TfD, because the discussions are all related. There is consensus to merge the group Sica, Silver2 and Silver02, the group Goca, Gold1 and Gold01, and the group Broca, Bronze3 and Bronze03 to a single template for each group. There is no discussion on how exactly that merge should take place. To me, it makes sense to merge to Gold1, Silver2 and Bronze3, and advice doing that, but that's not part of the close, and can be deviated from to taste. - Template:Sica (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)
- Template:Silver2 (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)
Propose merging Template:Sica with Template:Silver2.
This icon serves the exact same functionality as the {{Silver2}} template, with the exception that Silver2 allows for sorting. This template could benefit from where sorting is required and will not be affected in usages where sorting is not done (as no call will be made to the sort attribute). Propose merge to Silver2 name which is more intelligible to users. SFB 20:46, 28 October 2014 (UTC)
- Support, and support all following similar merge proposals. Regarding icon accessibility (WP:ALT), there are significant differences in the way images are handled. In Template:Sica we have
|alt={{{alt|}}}|link={{{link|}}}
, which lets users specify alt text and a link to another page. The alt parameter is almost unused. And I hope the link parameter is unused too, as it would be very confusing behavior. I suggest we keep|alt=2|link=
in Silver2 templates and other similar templates. Dodoïste (talk) 22:10, 29 October 2014 (UTC) - Support, and support all following similar merge proposals. Templates have the same function. Sander.v.Ginkel (talk) 10:57, 31 October 2014 (UTC)

The result of the discussion was Speedy delete G5. When I added the TFD I discovered that the user who created this was a sockpuppet for someone who is topic banned from religious articles. Should have checked first! Shii (tock) 20:48, 28 October 2014 (UTC)
This template is a fundamentally unmaintainable list. Hinduism and Islam ride alongside Scientology, Discordianism, and Druidry. Obviously, this could conceivably just keep on expanding for every religious group with a Wikipedia article. If the purpose of the template is to provide a link to every religious text in the world it is completely worthless to readers. They should be directed to the relevant category instead. - Template:Silver02 (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)
Propose merging Template:Silver2 with Template:Silver02.
The only difference in these templates is that the "02" variation allows for numerical sorting when numbers higher than 9 are present (e.g. so 2 sorts lower than 10). Sorting by 02 as the standard gives the correct result in all circumstances, where single and double digit numbers are present. I suggest we merge the functionality of the 02 template into the more memorable Silver2 title. SFB 20:28, 28 October 2014 (UTC)

Propose merging "Year Pan Am medal titles" templates with Template:Pan American Games medal title.
These templates merely serve the function of creating a header that links to a year's sports event at the Pan American Games (e.g. Basketball at the 2007 Pan American Games). It is excessive to have one for each year, when this can be easily done with a parameter using {{Pan American Games medal title}} - which also removes the issue of icon placement in the header in the yearly templates.
