[edit]List of youngest birth mothers
[edit]Sorry, I am Italian and I need to better understand about this text: “This is a list of youngest birth mothers aged less than 11 years at time of birth (not at time of conception).”
Italian girl Maria Tizziano become mother at 11 years and could be added in the list. If not, please change the words “less than” in other with easier to understand. What mean “less than”? It is impossible to me understand that. I suggest “maximum 10 years”. 151.71.54.79 (talk) 14:36, 9 July 2022 (UTC)
- I have linked the text in the article, and now if you click on it you will be able to read a definition:
- The notation a < b means that a is less than b.
- Does that make it clear? I am curious about the nature and origin of the ambiguity which you experienced. I see the relevant Italian word is minore. Did it seem as if less than might mean, as the symbol ⩽ represents, less than or equal? But that would be minore o uguale, so where does the confusion arise? Card Zero (talk) 16:11, 9 July 2022 (UTC)
- Note that strictly speaking a maximum of 10 years may not mean the same thing as less then 11 years. Someone who is 10 years and 364 days old may not be covered by a maximum of 10 years but will be clearly covered by less than 11 years. Nil Einne (talk) 17:17, 9 July 2022 (UTC)
