[edit]HIV antivirals kill coronavirus?
[edit]What is your opinion of [1]? EllenCT (talk) 05:56, 3 February 2020 (UTC)
- This desk is not for opinions, especially not on medical issues. --142.112.159.101 (talk) 07:01, 3 February 2020 (UTC)
- Without giving opinions, there is a fair amount of data indicating cross-effectiveness of antiviral drugs. That's just statistical though: they may have gotten lucky with that one patient. I even saw something about HIV antivirals helping against drug-resistant bacterial infections, which seemed bizarre to me (I'll see if I can find the reference later). 2601:648:8202:96B0:0:0:0:E118 (talk) 11:31, 3 February 2020 (UTC)
- Fortune also has something about that Thai treatment, mentioning that an RCT has started.[2] 2601:648:8202:96B0:0:0:0:E118 (talk) 12:05, 3 February 2020 (UTC)
Thanks all. Please see also [3]. EllenCT (talk) 05:15, 4 February 2020 (UTC)
A friend of mine has asked me to investigate as much as possible clinical benefits of this food additive which is more popular in Europe it seems. There is some information in Elsevier abstracts like this: Dihydroquercetin: More than just an impurity? [4] but most of it is in vitro [5]. It shows up under different names: Taxifolin, Venoruton [6], etc. I wonder if any more information could be had on the clinical aspects: benefits, side effects, etc. Thanks, -AboutFace 22 (talk)
- A good start for your investigation are the sources cited in our article Taxifolin. --Lambiam 15:37, 3 February 2020 (UTC)
