[edit]What is the We Can Do It woman's button?
[edit]What is the button on the collar of the woman in File:We_Can_Do_It!_NARA_535413_-_Restoration_2.jpg? The main page blurb and article We_Can_Do_It! don't say, unless I missed it. RudolfRed (talk) 01:45, 15 February 2023 (UTC)
- It appears to identify her as working for Westinghouse Electric. --OuroborosCobra (talk) 01:52, 15 February 2023 (UTC)
- Which it indicates in the article. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 03:06, 15 February 2023 (UTC)
- It's not identical, but it seems to be based on this type of Westinghouse employee badge. CodeTalker (talk) 04:29, 15 February 2023 (UTC)
- Based on other images, this type of badge has a photo of the employee's face in the centre, and under it two horizontal text lines. The first line identifies the plant (Westinghouse had a plant in Sharon, Pennsylvania[1]). The second line carries a number, presumably (in combination with the specific plant) uniquely identifying the employee. The main difference between the Rosie the Riveter badge and the actual ones is that the line identifying the plant is missing. --Lambiam 08:27, 15 February 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for all the replies. I missed the info in the article. RudolfRed (talk) 22:51, 15 February 2023 (UTC)
