A Booke of Days: A Journal of the Crusade

[edit]

I am thinking about buying this book, but I wanted to do some research on it first. However I looked online to see if I could find a timeline of the events it covers, but I found nothing. Has anyone here read it? I even looked for a Wikipedia article on it but I couldn't find anything. Any information about the book would be highly appreciated. The novel is set during the First Crusade, beginning in 1096. There are plenty of readers' reviews on Amazon, Goodreads, etc. The only professional review that I could find is on Kirkus Reviews: [1] We don't have an article on the author, Stephen J. Rivele, but a brief bio can be found on Goodreads: [2] (He's primarily a screenwriter) --2603:6081:1C00:1187:357E:3A04:8AB8:95E5 (talk) 15:27, 7 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
The book presents itself as the translation of the authentic diary of an historical participant in the First Crusade. Some readers apparently did not grasp that this is a work of fiction, even though the publisher added "A novel of the Crusades" on the cover. Publisher's Weekly also has a review: [3].  --Lambiam 08:29, 8 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Another review:  Susan Lynne Harkins. "Transformed by the Crucible of War". OrlandoSentinel.com. Orlando Sentinel.2603:6081:1C00:1187:4D00:61FD:C4AB:CCB5 (talk) 14:58, 8 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
That link did not work for me (it redirects to the paper's home page), but here is a version from Google's web cache.  --Lambiam 10:25, 9 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much. I'm gonna check those links! DominiqueGoode [Yes?] 21:06, 9 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
