[edit]Autographed picture of Silent Movie Actor William Densmure
[edit]I have a autographed western cowboy photo of William Densmure and need to find out if there is any place in the USA that would be interested in buying from me? Can you help me, I have tried searching the internet with no outcome. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.113.34.170 (talk) 16:14, 22 August 2020 (UTC)
- Can you give us an internet link so we'll have some idea who he is? ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 16:48, 22 August 2020 (UTC)
- There is an article on William Densmore, (b. 1833 – d. June 17, 1865) who was a Union Navy sailor in the American Civil War and a recipient of the U.S. military's highest decoration, the Medal of Honor, for his actions at the Battle of Mobile Bay. I have no idea if that is the same person. --Cookatoo.ergo.ZooM (talk) 17:43, 22 August 2020 (UTC)
- A man who died in 1865 could not possibly have been a silent movie actor. The first time a movie was shown to a live audience was 1894. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 18:00, 22 August 2020 (UTC)
- William Desmond Taylor? (the closest I could find; perhaps he used a stage-name) 2606:A000:1126:28D:B52D:F4AE:C1DD:5022 (talk) 23:09, 22 August 2020 (UTC)
- I can't find anybody of that name (or various spelling variations) in IMDb, which is much more complete. Clarityfiend (talk) 04:52, 23 August 2020 (UTC)
- William Desmond perhaps?--Shantavira|feed me 10:39, 23 August 2020 (UTC)
- Could be. In any case, there isn't much of a market for signatures of obscure silent-era actors. Clarityfiend (talk) 07:13, 24 August 2020 (UTC)
- Maybe if he was Norma's brother ... Clarityfiend (talk) 07:18, 24 August 2020 (UTC)
- Without seeing the photo, William Desmond seems likely since he was in a lot of silent Westerns. There are a lot of online photos of him (he has very thick eyebrows). Pikabruce (talk) 10:42, 26 August 2020 (UTC)
