[edit]Support for Wikipedia?
[edit]Hi, I'm trying to find information about significant entities that support or endorse Wikipedia, for example the Smithsonian or UN. Do any such endorsements for its reliability or usefulness exist? I remember hearing the LoC is now using Wikidata information, but can't find a source for that either... - Thanks you two. These aren't very clear as significant organizations endorsing Wikipedia. Most of those in the Reliability article are scientific journals, not large or significant organizations. And donors may not indicate endorsements specifically. Are there any other sources perhaps? ɱ (talk) · vbm · coi) 20:41, 3 October 2016 (UTC)

- Yeah, I don't think Smithsonian or UN is going to make a proclamation:"We proudly endorse Wikipedia as a great resource!". I think the page Jayron linked is in a sens an endorsement ("this research article found [good stats] on the Wikipedia") WP:OR I know people who work for the Smithsonian and they all used Wikipedia on a weekly basis. Then again almost everyone I know uses Wikipedia on a weekly basis :) 13:37, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
- Another indicator of "support" is collaboration. Many significant cultural and scientific institutions work with Wiki*edia.
