[edit]OPs
[edit]Here's a question I've been racking my brains with. Which has been the OP who has asked most questions at the refdesk ever? I don't know if you guys have this information, but I have curiosity. Miss Bono [hello, hello!] 14:04, 3 October 2013 (UTC)
- Looks like you're getting close... --Jayron32 15:48, 3 October 2013 (UTC)
- It might be me. I've been here for years and ask almost as many Q's as I answer. StuRat (talk) 15:50, 3 October 2013 (UTC)
- Oh, my Gosh. I feel so ashamed. Miss Bono [hello, hello!] 16:25, 3 October 2013 (UTC)
- What for? It's not a competition.
- I ask my fair share. I remember once being told, by an editor who's not around much any more if at all, that I'm a regular question-answerer so I should not also be asking questions here. What effrontery! As if the world is divided into those who know all the stuff ("we experts") and those who know none of it. -- Jack of Oz [pleasantries] 20:17, 3 October 2013 (UTC)
- Then I am a total ignorant. Miss Bono [hello, hello!] 20:21, 3 October 2013 (UTC)
- Not at all. I'm sure I've asked way more questions than you (but then, I've been around here for a lot longer). The desire to know more is much more important than actually knowing more, as paradoxical as that may seem at first glance. -- Jack of Oz [pleasantries] 20:28, 3 October 2013 (UTC)
- The picture of the no-longer-around user who tried to stop you from asking questions can be seen in the dictionary under "nanny". The questions you raise are challenging. Maybe that's what was really getting his goat. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 21:44, 3 October 2013 (UTC)
- He should appreciate goats, being a nanny. Good luck to him and his family. -- Jack of Oz [pleasantries] 23:30, 3 October 2013 (UTC)

- (Un-indent) How is it even possible to know for sure, given that many IP users (myself included) ask their questions under several different IP addresses? (I've asked and answered questions under at least 4 different IPs that I remember, and maybe more than that.) 24.23.196.85 (talk) 04:42, 4 October 2013 (UTC)
- So I'm curious. Why don't you register? It gives you greater anonymity than using an IP address, even a frequently changing one. For example, with no more than two mouse clicks I can tell you're probably from San Jose. Imagine what a few more clicks could achieve! Registered user names provide no indication of where the user is from. HiLo48 (talk) 04:58, 4 October 2013 (UTC)
- I haven't been here long, but I ask a lot of questions. Generally, I try to answer a question every time I ask one, but I don't keep track, or really care. Personally, I view it like a big ongoing conversation; if I'm curious about something and can't figure it out, I ask, and if I see something asked that I know, I answer it. I don't come here to ask or answer, I just hang around and speak up when I have something.Phoenixia1177 (talk) 06:13, 4 October 2013 (UTC)
- Hey guys, sorry for my questions, apparently someone believes I am a troll. Won't ask anything again. Miss Bono [hello, hello!] 12:27, 4 October 2013 (UTC)
- Ms. B, one person's opinion is not consensus. Feel free to ask. If your question is good faith and answerable with references, it will be welcome. Karenjc (talk) 15:08, 4 October 2013 (UTC)
- I recently read in the archives of the talk of the ref desk, that my questions were garbage, my English is not good, but I swear that means something like crap, junk and basura in Spanish. So I will keep my garbage out of the Ref Desk Miss Bono [hello, hello!] 15:18, 4 October 2013 (UTC)
- Who said that? Because I don't think it's true. Most of your questions are exactly the sort of thing this desk is here to answer. You express yourself well, and you engage with the people who respond, which is a valuable thing that many questioners forget to do. AlexTiefling (talk) 15:28, 4 October 2013 (UTC)
- Don't know. An IP address said it. Miss Bono [hello, hello!] 15:32, 4 October 2013 (UTC)
- Before taking seriously anything said by an IP, click their link and see how many "contributions" they have. Often it's fewer than you can count on one hand. The opinions of those IP's are often just trolling, i.e. basura. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 15:41, 4 October 2013 (UTC)
- click this and search for Miss Bono. I don't even know why my name was there. Miss Bono [hello, hello!] 15:43, 4 October 2013 (UTC)
- It's very simple, Miss Bono. If trolls do not attack you here then you are doing something wrong. μηδείς (talk) 17:17, 4 October 2013 (UTC)
- Does that mean that I have to be attacked by a troll to know that I am doing something right? Weird, way too weird. Miss Bono [hello, hello!] 17:20, 4 October 2013 (UTC)
- Exactly, Miss Bono: Welcome to the interweb!
- To be fair, Onorem's concern here is a valid one, and he is frustrated with me because I do close health and legal questions and some debate-inviting opinion questions (of the "why are Jews so evil" or "Why are gays so gay?" type), so he is annoyed that I am answering you. The easy way to address this is to try to make your questions as fact-oriented as possible. Instead of "what is a good name for a restaurant" (which seems like a request for opinion) you can ask "what are the names of the 10 fanciest Italian restaurants in Manhattan by cost and customer ratings?
- As for this thread, it reall belongs on the talk page if it is going to continue this topic, but I will hold off on moving it for now. μηδείς (talk) 17:59, 4 October 2013 (UTC)
- One thing people need to take into account when I post a question is that English is not my native languagea and sometimes, what I am trying to say doesn't come as it should really be or how I want it to sound. Miss Bono [hello, hello!] 18:30, 4 October 2013 (UTC)
- You can move it or close it. I am trying to stay away from the ref desk for a while. Do healthier things. Miss Bono [hello, hello!] 18:30, 4 October 2013 (UTC)
- That one IP has a grand total of 2 edits. Worthless. Ignore its complaints. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 21:02, 4 October 2013 (UTC)

- Miss Bono: Have you considered asking on the Wikipedia that does match your native language instead? RudolfRed (talk) 23:45, 4 October 2013 (UTC)
- Her English is a lot better than many native speakers'. Does the Spanish wikipedia have a ref desk? I am fairly certain we have many more contributors. μηδείς (talk) 00:12, 5 October 2013 (UTC)
- This is the inter-language link for the Ref Desk. I don't read spanish well, so I dont know if it is the same as the english ref desk. https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Consultas. Quantity does not equal quality. Being able to get one good answer in a native language might be better than a 100 mediocore answers here. RudolfRed (talk) 01:19, 5 October 2013 (UTC)
- The Spanish page is a single combined reference and help desk, almost entirely focusing on help. It currently has two references questions, saying "I want to know about Beethoven" and "I want to know about Honduras", the answers to which are, see our article on Beethoven, and see our article on Honduras. I must say I think their guidelines are better worded than ours, though. μηδείς (talk) 01:27, 5 October 2013 (UTC)
- I have a vague recollection of asking a question on their ref/help desk some years back, and as I recall I got a useful answer. Many of Miss Bono's questions I think are best directed at native English speakers, some of whom (like yourself) know enough Spanish to be able to help. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 02:27, 5 October 2013 (UTC)
- Except for her not knowing certain uncommon English idioms, and every once in a while saying something like "her wife" instead of "his" because her and wife agree in gender in Spanish, MB's English is excellent. μηδείς (talk) 02:40, 5 October 2013 (UTC)

- I have not seen any place like this when measuring the effectiveness of the answers u can get… and I have done questions in a lot of places
- And please, let me ask one question, what is this troll thing? I know it’s a bad thing but I’m tired of reed it in formula one forums as an offence, but I don’t completely get it (and the definition in the dictionary I have, tell me nothing)
- Iskánder Vigoa Pérez (talk) 01:51, 5 October 2013 (UTC)
- We have an article, internet troll. It is basically someone who pretends to be serious about asking a question, but who is really trying to manipulate people or get them to waste their time, get into arguments, and so forth. Originally, a troll was a mediaeval monster who lived under a bridge, and wouldn't let you pass unless you paid him or defeated him in riddles or combat or the like. μηδείς (talk) 02:36, 5 October 2013 (UTC)
- The original idea is expressed in the story Three Billy Goats Gruff, and it's easy to see why the term came to mean what it does on the internet. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 03:29, 5 October 2013 (UTC)

I want to add myself to the list of people who think Miss Bono asks very good questions. I look forward to them because they make me think. Miss Bono, if your questions were bad, no one would be answering them; but people always try to answer them because they are good questions. Duoduoduo (talk) 17:44, 5 October 2013 (UTC)
- If the Refdesk had a MVP award Miss Bono would consistently be the clear winner. Don't stop what you're doing MB, we like your posts. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 08:30, 6 October 2013 (UTC)
- All of Miss Bono's questions on the computing desk have been of high quality and a pleasure to answer. And even though I don't participate much on misc and entertainment, her questions there are always enjoyable to read and prompt useful answers. --.Yellow1996.(ЬMИED¡) 17:36, 6 October 2013 (UTC)
- Awwwwww, thank you guys for your super duper nice comments :) I wil keep them :D. They made me want to stay around :D... Miss Bono [hello, hello!] 17:27, 7 October 2013 (UTC)
