[edit]Dialog doubt in A Quiet Place Part II
[edit]Lee Abbott just visits a baseball match:
- Lee Abbott: First time through the order?
- Emmett: Third.
- Lee Abbott: Third? What inning is this?
- Emmett: Fifth.
What does "through the order" mean? Rizosome (talk) 05:56, 17 September 2021 (UTC)
- Offhand, I'd say it's a reference to the batting order, in that
it is Emmett'sthe player (whom Emmett has been watching prior to Lee's arrival) is making their third plate appearance in five innings. --Kinu t/c 06:18, 17 September 2021 (UTC)- Definitely. But does it pertain to the plot, or is it just idle chatter at a ball game? ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 14:45, 17 September 2021 (UTC)
- I haven't seen the film, but upon further review (and the article about the film), the dialogue suggests that they are both spectators. I've edited my response accordingly. --Kinu t/c 20:58, 17 September 2021 (UTC)
