[edit]Bandoe
[edit]According to [1], a "bandoe" is street slang for a drug den. What is the origin of this word? Urban Dictionary confirms the meaning and gives a spelling variant without the final 'e', but sheds no light on the origin. And before BB looks it up in his favourite etymology site, it's not listed there. --Viennese Waltz 14:14, 21 October 2019 (UTC)
- Urban Dictionary's entry for 'bando' says that it's short for 'abandoned house', which seems plausible. AndrewWTaylor (talk) 14:22, 21 October 2019 (UTC)
- D'oh, I saw that entry but didn't make the connection that it was simply an abbreviation. Thanks. --Viennese Waltz 14:33, 21 October 2019 (UTC)
