[edit]Names for Actias luna in Native American languages
[edit]What is the common name of Actias luna (known as the Luna moth or Moon moth in English) in Native American languages — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.254.14.226 (talk) 11:21, 21 July 2019 (UTC)
- For a start, we have Cherokee calendar (although it has "multiple issues", so caution required). Alansplodge (talk) 16:35, 21 July 2019 (UTC)
Thank you Alen for that link That page has a few things with moon in it but nothing related to the Luna moth but I likely will have to go to the library or to a few Native American reservations to find out as I am making a book on Native American names for animals and that will be part of a series I plan on Native American names for different things

- I am unclear if you realise how many native American languages there are and what an incredibly large endeavor that would be. Maybe you want to start with 1 language? --Lgriot (talk) 10:51, 22 July 2019 (UTC)
I think you have a good point I think I will likely start with just 1 language and combine words into the book I think it would be easier then adding all of them 1 one book as there like almost 300 languages and I did not realize how many existed thank you Lgriot Ian Anthony McConnell — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.254.14.226 (talk) 00:20, 23 July 2019 (UTC)
