[edit]Is Singapore part of the Muslim world?
[edit]Is Singapore part of the Muslim world despite being in a central location in Southeast Asia surrounded by countries with Islam being the official state religion and/or the countries themselves having a Muslim-majority population? Also, is Singapore an enclave of the Muslim world because its Muslim population is 14.0%? WJetChao (talk) 05:12, 29 November 2018 (UTC)
- Muslim world#Geography doesn't think so: "One commonly supported rule of thumb is a Muslim population of more than 50%." Also, Israel is surrounded by Muslim countries, so location isn't a valid criterion. Clarityfiend (talk) 06:28, 29 November 2018 (UTC)
- As noted in the Religion in Singapore article, Singaporeans have very diverse religious beliefs and Islam has the fourth-largest number of followers (including no religion). It is not considered a Muslim country by any measure. Nick-D (talk) 10:29, 29 November 2018 (UTC)
