Lake freighter locations

[edit]

Yesterday at Ashtabula, I saw a freighter out on the lake. Is there any way to look up which one; is there any place (in print or online) where their locations or planned landings are published? Nyttend (talk) 14:02, 9 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This site shows current ship positions; don't know how to look up earlier locations though.--Cam (talk) 14:12, 9 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks a lot! The map shows John B. Aird in port at Ashtabula this morning, and the ship I saw was approaching the light and breakwater at sunset yesterday, so I'll guess that it's she. Nyttend (talk) 14:19, 9 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
There's also Marine Traffic [1]], who are global in scope, and who have a smartphone app. Acroterion (talk) 01:26, 11 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
