[edit]Rodney P's sample
[edit]Hi everyone. Rodney P had a really decent album in 2004 called The Future. Track #2, The Nice Up, is sampled from a reggae tune which I stumbled upon in a cafe bar, however my phone was dead and nobody had Shazam on hand. Can somebody name the original reggae tune? As far as I remember, there were no words whatsoever. I've seen samples written out on album sleeves and what not. Splićanin (talk) 23:19, 23 March 2023 (UTC)
- According to this website, the song contains a sample from "Real Rock" by Sound Dimension, a 1967 instrumental reggae song. You can listen for yourself and see if it's a match. Xuxl (talk) 10:38, 24 March 2023 (UTC)
- Now, I've just listened to both and it's definitely the right sample. Xuxl (talk) 11:44, 24 March 2023 (UTC)
Thank you very much. One more thing, can you make anything of lyrics? English is my second language, I can't understand a whole lot of Rodney in this tune. Splićanin (talk) 12:05, 25 March 2023 (UTC)
- It seems you're not alone. None of the usual sites that post lyrics have them. Xuxl (talk) 11:39, 26 March 2023 (UTC)
