[edit]Mr. Jones
[edit]I've just watched the film Mr Jones, which follows the Gareth Jones Wikipedia article quite closely, with one notable exception. Was there a connection between Jones and George Orwell? -- 2603:6081:1C00:1187:49B4:94C7:A931:F855 (talk) 19:46, 31 July 2022 (UTC)
- Sort of found an answer myself: According to his family, Jones and Orwell never met.[1] --2603:6081:1C00:1187:49B4:94C7:A931:F855 (talk) 20:59, 31 July 2022 (UTC)
Is Nickelback more hated than liked by fans?
[edit]Is Nickelback a band where people love to hate them just for fun? 2001:569:7D9A:1300:E49F:214C:6086:C4ED (talk) 21:23, 31 July 2022 (UTC)

- By definition, no. See Fan (person). Shantavira|feed me 05:51, 1 August 2022 (UTC)
- From what I've read, it isn't the music. Nickelback music is very basic rock. For example, Rockstar goes through the chords G-C-F-G over and over. I can give you thousands of popular songs that go through that same chord progression because it sounds deep and nostalgic. The narrative is that the studio tried to make the band out to be the best in the world. So, there was backlash. Over time, it became another "Fake Moon Landing" or "Flat Earth" or "Birds Are Fake" thing. The people who claim to support it are doing so just to be a jerk. "Nickelback isn't real. They are used by the government to spy on us so we don't find the fake Moon landing set three floors down below the flat surface of the Earth. Hahahaha!" 97.82.165.112 (talk) 12:31, 1 August 2022 (UTC)
- Nickelback fits in the Post-grunge genre, and that article contains reasons why there was a backlash against the genre. --Jayron32 12:47, 1 August 2022 (UTC)
