[edit]Space shorts from Nickelodeon
[edit]Around 1982 to 1984 there was a feature on Nickelodeon, in the very early days of the channel, where a series of short clips had the viewer flying around the solar system learning things about the various planets and moons. The Orion Nebula was mentioned as well as the moon Io (moon). I literally remember sitting in a stroller watching those clips across the room and have always wondered what they were called and if they are available today. Does anyone know? -KTcup82 (talk) 15:43, 6 November 2021 (UTC)
- Hmmm, there doesn't seem to be anything on the List of Nickelodeon short films that matches your description. --107.15.157.44 (talk) 16:22, 6 November 2021 (UTC)
- There's a possibility they were used as interstitial shorts on the show Pinwheel, which was Nickelodeon's version of Sesame Street, being a puppet-and-human-based educational show with lots of short little vignettes. --Jayron32 22:27, 7 November 2021 (UTC)
It was some kind of independent 15 minute show between the major shows. On in the afternoon with the "older" shows like Livewire and Against the Odds. Early Nickelodeon was so fascinating. — Preceding unsigned comment added by KTcup82 (talk • contribs) 15:22, 8 November 2021 (UTC)
- Maybe it was Jack Horkheimer: Star Hustler? I remember it on PBS, but perhaps Nickelodeon showed them too? --Jayron32 16:17, 8 November 2021 (UTC)
- Oh no, this was a science fiction show, you were actually in the part of a space pilot flying a craft around the solar system. Although, yes I used to watch him all the time, too! -KTcup82 (talk) 16:34, 8 November 2021 (UTC)
- I remember that, in the early 1980s, Nickelodeon used to re-play episodes of the British show The Tomorrow People. Maybe that was it? --Jayron32 16:43, 8 November 2021 (UTC)
