[edit]YouTube Premium
[edit]Is YouTube Premium truly ad-free, i.e. no ads whatsoever between videos and no ads whatsoever during a video? In other words, will my viewing ever be interrupted by even the shortest of ads? Splićanin (talk) 23:58, 18 August 2020 (UTC)
- Plenty of Youtubers include ads in their videos which you will still see. To be clear, I don't mean ad points added by uploaders. I mean in video ads where the Youtuber starts saying 'thank you to Blockbuster and Media Play for sponsoring this this stream, and thanks also to all my subscribers on Mixer like ShadowCat25815 for your continued support, feel free to friend me on Friendster or add me on ICQ' Nil Einne (talk) 14:27, 19 August 2020 (UTC)
- Obviously, that's not the kind of ad the OP was asking about. The question is whether YT Premium includes ads for products and services that do not form part of the actual YT content. --Viennese Waltz 14:56, 19 August 2020 (UTC)
- It's unclear to me how you can be sure that the OP is aware that these ads exist, or that we can be sure they understand they aren't going to disappear or be automatically skipped when they subscribe to Youtube Premium. Nil Einne (talk) 17:03, 19 August 2020 (UTC)
- As for other ads, Google's official answer is here [1]
From what I can tell, this means you should not see any external ads coming from Google provided you are logged in. However should not doesn't mean will not. As with all software, bugs happens [2] [3] [4] (note all 3 are dated different times). If you use Youtube Premium often enough and for long enough, there's probably some chance you will encounter one of these bugs. And there are also those situations which are technically your own fault e.g. you forgot to login or were logged out & didn't notice, you are using some ancient no longer supported device which works at least partly with Youtube but where logins don't work or the ad free part is broken and won't ever be fixed. Still any such situations should be exceedingly rare for most people. Nil Einne (talk) 17:33, 19 August 2020 (UTC)With YouTube Premium, you can watch millions of videos without interruptions by ads before and during a video, including video overlay ads. You will also not see third-party banner ads and search ads.
You may still see branding or promotions embedded in the content by the creator and promotional links, shelves and features in and around the content that are added or enabled by the creator. These links, shelves and features could be for their website, merchandise, a membership to their channel, event tickets, or other related destinations they are promoting.

Thank you very much. Waltz is right, but Nil has helped with an additional point. The most deflating thing ever is listening to a set or playlist and then being interrupted by ads. Splićanin (talk) 20:21, 19 August 2020 (UTC)
