[edit]On the fiddle, again
[edit]So now that we've more-or-less established when Sean Connery enlists in the RAF in the movie On the Fiddle, can anyone tell me what year does Alfred Lynch enlist? 2601:646:8E01:7E0B:F88D:DE34:7772:8E5B (talk) 13:33, 15 December 2016 (UTC)
- I saw the film awhile ago, and I'm not sure that there's any exact chronology, nor any need for one. The plot is rather simple: Part one: airmen spend their time avoiding active service while running profitable scams. Part two: when they actually get sent to a war zone (which must be in 1944), they turn out to be inadvertent heroes. Alansplodge (talk) 16:31, 15 December 2016 (UTC)
Multiple language animated films?
[edit]I would like to find out which animated films have been re-animated for different locales. I tried looking at the list of multiple-language version films, but that stops in the 60s and only covers real-life films (though it mentions that many Indian films are still produced in MLVs). I am thinking of things like lip-synch to different voice actresses, localised body gestures, replaced background signage / on-screen text (I first saw this one on the Wall-E blu-ray), et cetera. Is there an article already that covers this? If not, should the earlier-linked article do so? RSVP on my talk page. — Nicholas (reply) @ 11:52, 10 December 2016 (UTC) [reposted from WikiProject Film/talk]
Was Street Fighter 2 a bigger influence in the making of Double Dragon V: The Shadow Falls than Samurai Shodown was?
[edit]Does Double Dragon V: The Shadow Falls get more influence from Street Fighter 2 than from Samurai Shodown? RJPascual (talk) 18:54, 15 December 2016 (UTC)
- Our article on Double Dragon V: The Shadow Falls only says "in the style of" Street Fighter II, not "influenced by." One possible consideration is release dates. Street Fighter II: The World Warrior came out in 1991, Samurai Shodown (video game) in 1993]], and Double Dragon V in 1994. While it had time to be influenced by either or both, it had more time to be influenced by Street Fighter II, which it was compared to. Still, without sources specifically discussing the matter, it's not really possible to say. Ian.thomson (talk) 23:03, 15 December 2016 (UTC)
