Canadian NHL teams all win same day

[edit]

Has there even been an occasion where all Canadian based NHL teams won their respective games on the same day? For this to happen, no two teams could be faced off against each other (as one would loose for sure). This would also mean that ties (when applicable) wouldn't have occurred either. Sunday April 2, 1967 is one such day, see here and here. Prior to 1971-72 there were tons of days all Canadian based NHL teams won on the same day. Post 1972 might require a few more franchise researching. Market St.⧏ ⧐ Diamond Way 20:01, 24 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
March 31, 1979 is another Vancouver, Montreal and Toronto all won. Market St.⧏ ⧐ Diamond Way 20:02, 24 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
1926/27 is the first time that American teams (Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Americans, Rangers, Pittsburgh) outnumbered the Canadian teams (Toronto, Maroons, Canadiens, Ottawa), so we'd have to go back quite far to figure this out (although of course from 1938 to 1970 there are only Toronto and Montreal to worry about, which should make it a lot easier). However, all teams typically didn't play on the same day - the first time this happened in 26/27 seems to be March 3, 1927 (when the Senators lost and the Maroons tied, so it doesn't fit your criteria). I'm sure there's an easier way to figure this out, but you could do it manually with Hockey Reference, starting here in 1926/27. Adam Bishop (talk) 10:45, 25 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Luigi's Mansion.

[edit]

What does it mean when you search something with the Game Boy Horror and a square appears with a question mark inside, and just above the square it says "WHAT'S THIS?"? What is the purpose of knocking on walls and doors, etc. (but not on treasure chests)? For your information, you can knock on doors by pressing A while vacuuming. What does mario yell from the well in the courtyard? Does anything happen if you vacuum all the cobwebs? Why does Luigi move up and down slightly while situated on a ladder? What is the chance of clearing the hide-and-go-seek minigame in the Twins' Room in one go, ***SPOILER WARNING*** if you don't vacuum them to find out which ones shake (the ones that shake are those that the ghosts are hiding in)? 78.156.109.166 (talk) 18:49, 24 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Burnout 3: Takedown.

[edit]

How does it work that it seems like you drive faster when boosting, even if you are driving at the same speed just before you begin boosting? What does psyche out mean? 78.156.109.166 (talk) 18:56, 24 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

In general, "psyching out" an opponent means scaring them so much that they can't do their best. StuRat (talk) 23:58, 25 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think so, because you're not scaring the opponents. Right? 78.156.109.166 (talk) 20:10, 25 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

What Simpsons scene

[edit]

In a scene of the Simpsons, Homer says something like "our life is not a television show", then he falls and hurts himself and canned laughter is heard. Does anyone know in which episode this happens? 88.193.86.151 (talk) 20:50, 24 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Meta-references (or, as in this case, the denial of any such a reference) are frequently used on The Simpsons, so I would keep looking for that one.--Shantavira|feed me 16:35, 25 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I am still watching some of episodes to see if I find that line. Miss Bono [hello, hello!] 19:06, 25 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
There are reruns on TV constantly. At one point there were 10 hours of reruns on over the weekend! Plus there are only about 8 (maybe 10 if we're being generous) seasons of "classic" Simpsons...no one really memorizes the last 15 seasons, say. $pringfield though, that's definitely one of the best, that's an easy one to remember! Adam Bishop (talk) 21:07, 25 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The show definitely hit its Zenith around 1996, with that year's Treehouse of Horror (Dole v. Clinton, "I've created Lutherans") and the Chili-eating contest (Merciless Guatemalan Insanity Pepper of Quetzlzacatenango) being brilliant works of grand satire and high art. I agree with Shantavira that the episode Pacostein gave may not necessarily be the one IP88 was thinking of. μηδείς (talk) 18:53, 26 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Wasn't around that time that U2 appeared there LOL... My favourite episode everrrr!! It's not the best though. Miss Bono [hello, hello!] 12:37, 28 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
