[edit]Suncoast handbuilt guitars
[edit]I am trying to get as much information as I can on these handmade guitars. They were built in the 1970's in Florida and only a few were made. I also know there was a brief article in a magazine around 1977 or so called Guitar Player. I was unable to even locate archives with that article. ANY information on the hand built guitars would be extremely helpful. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 170.222.100.210 (talk) 04:28, 5 August 2013 (UTC)
So Cruel Song
[edit]I was wondering if these lines in U2 So Cruel song are references to sex or a fight between a man and a woman?: Her skin is pale like god's only dove/screams like an angel for your love/then she makes you watch her from above/and you need her like a drug. Maybe I am worng but I think it is the fisrt one. Miss Bono [zootalk] 16:28, 5 August 2013 (UTC)
- It's a matter of interpretation. It means whatever you want it to mean. If you're looking for what Bono meant by it, you're never going to get a definitive answer on that. Could you stop asking questions about Bono now please? kthanks. --Viennese Waltz 20:56, 5 August 2013 (UTC)
- We have no rule about asking questions about song lyrics, and Miss Bono doesn't ask a disruptive amount these of questions, in my opinion. SemanticMantis (talk) 00:32, 6 August 2013 (UTC)
- You would probably find Bono fan pages to be more fruitful sources of information. And there's always the possibility that he might have commented on the song at some point. If so, the fans on those fan pages will surely know. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 00:19, 6 August 2013 (UTC)
- As VW says, it's a matter of interpretation. But some people may have written about this, and we could give references to those writings. I googled /u2 so cruel lyrics meanings/, and found this page [1], which has some discussion of interpretations. One person said, in part "The song is about a couple who drift apart after trying to enhance their sex life by the introduction of another woman into their lovemaking. At the beginning, the male speaks in the first (and second) person to his female lover. He immediately suggests regrat (sic) and his blameing (sic) of his female partner for coming up with the idea of enriching their love life with a bi-sexual / threesome experience."
- --etc. That's all I can do to help By the way, I recall that you can't access most of the internet except wikipedia? If that's the case, you might want to say so in your questions. We are here to provide references, and if you can't access things we link, that limits our ability to help you. I don't mind pasting some bits from other sources, but it might save you some hassle to describe what you can access and what you cannot. SemanticMantis (talk) 00:32, 6 August 2013 (UTC)
- Thank you so much, SemanticMantis. I can access only Wikipedia. My work has blocked everything on the Internet but Wikipedia (not even Commons, WikiQuote, etc) And as for what Viennese Waltz said... I will stop asking Bono's question, but just in case you cannot read what I posted, it wasn't a Bono-question! I was asking for the meaning of a song... it is the same as if I ask for the meaning of the song Summer Paradise by Simple Plan, that doesn't mean that I am asking a question about Pierre Bouvier. Does it? If you don't want to help me, just don't do it, but please, do not ask for me to stop asking questions, because I am not breaking any rules, I am not asking for medical or legal advice. Thanks Miss Bono [zootalk] 13:02, 6 August 2013 (UTC)
- VW has a tendency toward over-managing of the ref desks. If you have concerns about his behavior, or anyone's, you may bring it up on the ref desk talk page. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 16:00, 6 August 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks, Baseball Bugs. I think I just gonna let it be. I will completely avoid posting question here (at the Entertainment Desk).... just in case. Miss Bono [zootalk] 16:30, 6 August 2013 (UTC)
- As Semantic says, there's no rule against asking questions about a particular subject. I can think of several users who frequently ask questions on a particular subject. Just keep the questions reasonable, i.e. answerable by citeable facts, and you'll be fine. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 16:32, 6 August 2013 (UTC)
- Am I doing something wrong so far, Bugs? I don't want to bother the big people here. Miss Bono [zootalk] 16:38, 6 August 2013 (UTC)
- Not that I'm seeing. VW needs to explain his comments. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 20:48, 6 August 2013 (UTC)
