[edit]Name of orchestra that recorded the 1990 Dances with wolves soundtrack?
[edit]I have the original 1990 Epic Records CD of the Dances with wolves soundtrack, but it doesn't mention the orchestra. I've found mentions of "The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra" but that was for a 1992 re-recording[1]. Quite a few of my score CDs don't mention the orchestras - are they often just ad-hoc groups without names? -- Jeandré, 2011-09-24t17:29z
- Yes, Hollywood soundtracks are usually recorded by ad hoc formations of session musicians hired by the studios. Recently (about 10 years ago, at any rate after the recording of your soundtrack) some media outlets started to credit a certain Hollywood Studio Symphony as the orchestra, but that too is a constantly changing and shifting construct, even if there is a name printed on the CD booklet nowadays. ---Sluzzelin talk 17:57, 24 September 2011 (UTC)
