[edit]Trying to identify a song (Spanish rock song, possibly from TV commercials)
[edit]I'm looking for the name of a song I heard on the radio. I think it's Spanish, and I think it might have been featured in television commercials. It reminds me a little of Little Green Bag, although it's actually rather different. I made a midi file from memory, and hopefully if you listen to it you might recognize it—You can find it here. Thanks. 124.171.67.0 (talk) 07:02, 7 March 2011 (UTC)
- That link doesn't let me download the midi, though it tells me it's a little over 9k in size. It bounces me endlessly between two pages, using redirects or something. Neither page has a "click to download" button, or has the midi embedded in it. 213.122.10.143 (talk) 13:08, 7 March 2011 (UTC)
- My audio is hosed at the moment, but the song which immediately springs to mind is Los Bravos' Black is Black. Why not check it out on YouTube and see if it's the song you're looking for.--Jeanne Boleyn (talk) 14:55, 7 March 2011 (UTC)
- Hm sorry about that 213.. the link appears to be working again, but I've mirrored the same file here and here (sorry about the ads).
- Thanks Jeanne, that's not it, although I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same era. The lyrics weren't in English—They were probably Spanish, but despite that I think the song is familiar to English-speakers also (possibly from commercials). 124.171.70.0 (talk) 08:41, 8 March 2011 (UTC)

- A Minha Menina by The Bees. --Frumpo (talk) 16:46, 8 March 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks Frumpo, that's it! Looks like I actually heard the version by Os Mutantes in Portugeuse (not Spanish as I thought). Much appreciated! 124.171.70.0 (talk) 07:11, 9 March 2011 (UTC)
December's Children
[edit] Resolved
Would anyone happen to know how or where the Rolling Stones derived the title of their American LP December's Children (and Everybody's)? Only Keith has a December birthday, so it cannot be that they were all born in December. Thank you.--Jeanne Boleyn (talk) 12:48, 7 March 2011 (UTC)
- I notice it was released in December, if that explains anything. 213.122.10.143 (talk) 13:28, 7 March 2011 (UTC)
- No idea about its reliability, but the L.A. Times says "The Rolling Stones once referred to themselves as December’s Children, the partial title of their fifth album and a way to point out their wintry, difficult, rebel-may-care cool, as opposed to the Beatles spring-time, lovesick happiness." Ghmyrtle (talk) 13:41, 7 March 2011 (UTC)
- In a Rolling Stone magazine interview (appears to be 1995, but I haven't found it yet), Mick Jagger stated that it was the producer's idea of something cool and poetic. An except of it is here, but it doesn't contain the questions/answers about that album. -- kainaw™ 13:44, 7 March 2011 (UTC)
- Found it on the interviewer's website here: "It was our manager’s (Andrew Loog Oldham) idea of hip, Beat poetry." -- kainaw™ 13:46, 7 March 2011 (UTC)
- That's great, I've got my answer! Thanks for all your prompt replies and useful links. Cheers!--Jeanne Boleyn (talk) 14:14, 7 March 2011 (UTC)
- And the article has now been updated with that info and source. Thanks! Dismas|(talk) 03:08, 8 March 2011 (UTC)
