Classical music in a video
[edit]I recently watch a short called "Everything is a Remix" and couldn't help but wonder about some of the classical music played in it. In particular the pieces of music I wish to identify are played at ~6:05 to ~7:00 and ~8:30 to ~8:44 in part 2. Link: http://www.everythingisaremix.info/watch-the-series/. Thank you for your help. Vidtharr (talk) 18:49, 24 February 2011 (UTC)
- The first one is the 2nd movement, Allegretto, from Beethoven's Symphony No. 7 in A major. The second one sounds like some modern-day film music, but I can't ID it. -- Jack of Oz [your turn] 19:29, 24 February 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you for identifying the first piece. Vidtharr (talk) 01:37, 25 February 2011 (UTC)
Appearing in remake of own film
[edit]Hello. I was recently watching the Adam Sandler 2005 remake of The Longest Yard, which also featured Burt Reynolds, who starred in the 1974 original version. It got me to wondering if there are any other actors who appeared in both an original and a remake of a film. Thank you. — Michael J 20:45, 24 February 2011 (UTC)
- The first example that came to mind were Gregory Peck and Robert Mitchum both re-appearing in the 1991 remake of Cape Fear. Once again though, TV Tropes has this covered: Remake Cameo. ---Sluzzelin talk 20:50, 24 February 2011 (UTC)
- Michael Caine was in Sleuth and Sleuth. DuncanHill (talk) 20:51, 24 February 2011 (UTC)
- Noel Neill was in the TV series Adventures of Superman and Superman --TrogWoolley (talk) 21:07, 24 February 2011 (UTC)
- Alfred Hitchcock had cameo appearances in The Man Who Knew Too Much (1934 film) and its remake The Man Who Knew Too Much (1956 film). -- Jack of Oz [your turn] 21:31, 24 February 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks to all! And thanks for the TV Tropes link — I didn't realize there were so many. — Michael J 21:54, 24 February 2011 (UTC)
I watched an episode on terrestial TV a couple of days ago. A combine-harvester had been converted to clear snow. During an early part of that segment some fast piano music was playing. What was it please? I thought I may have heard it in some classic french film from long ago. 92.15.22.226 (talk) 21:18, 24 February 2011 (UTC)
- For the researchers, here is the video on the BBC iPlayer. The only piano music I can find in the first Snowbine segment starts around 6:40. Vimescarrot (talk) 01:07, 25 February 2011 (UTC)
- The Top Gear - What's That Song lists is as the title music to Billion Dollar Brain. Nanonic (talk) 01:14, 25 February 2011 (UTC)
Trying to remember title of a film
[edit]I saw this on telly a while ago. A group of prisoners are released, and are travelling on a train. The corrupt prison governor is planning to kill them. At some point there is a tart on a houseboat (which later explodes). American film, probably late 60s or early 70s, set earlier (maybe 30s). Sorry for the vagueness! DuncanHill (talk) 21:19, 24 February 2011 (UTC)
- Gotta be Fools' Parade, starring James Stewart. Clarityfiend (talk) 22:52, 24 February 2011 (UTC)
- And he has a glass eye! Yes, that's it, thank you! DuncanHill (talk) 23:02, 24 February 2011 (UTC)
